A dishwasher saves both water and energy, compared to hand washing that usually requires 5 times as much water.
The dishwasher has a function that detects the amount of dishes in the dishwasher and how dirty they are and adjusts the water volume based on this.
Towards the end of the program, the door automatically opens and stays ajar so that the dishes dry as quickly as possible.

Compact but mightyYendaThis dishwasher requires special salt, which is sold at bunnings and a lot of other online retailers. Buy this before you have it installed.
It fits a lot of dishes for my small kitchen and cleans well in the auto setting. It automatically open at the end of a cycle to help drying.
Poor resultsJessicaThis dishwasher does not perform as well as our last compact dishwasher. Using the 'auto' setting often leaves dishes dirty, but the main issue is the drying - or lack thereof. We have experimented with different detergent brands, and differing amounts of rinse aid. We have also added dishwasher salt as directed (dishwasher salt is very difficult to find for sale in Australia). But still the dishes are sopping wet at the end of a cycle. I feel this dishwasher has prioritised energy consumption over providing adequate drying. Which is fine if you can leave your dishwasher door open all day for your dishes to dry, but for us this blocks access to the pantry.
The door is also very stiff and difficult to lower to the ground. We have greased it but this only helped a little.
Changing settings is not intuitive at all and requires careful studying of the instruction book.
