ORRSTA cover is woven from cotton and polyester with a light structure that makes it soft and comfortable. The yarn-dyed fabric has a tone-on-tone effect and a clean and calm look.

The cover is easy to keep clean as it is removable and machine washable.

Safety and compliance

This cover's ability to resist abrasion has been tested to handle 20,000 cycles. A cover that withstands 15,000 cycles or more is suitable for furniture that should withstand everyday use in the home.The cover has a lightfastness level of 5 (the ability to resist colour fading) on a scale of 1 to 8. According to industry standards, a lightfastness level of 4 or higher is suitable for home use.

Too long in the backrest and do not wrap around the seat properly. Looks really horrible once it is on, very ill fitting. Poor form from IKEA to change this and not realise it doesn't fit. I now have 2 bar stools that I have either no cover for or really ill fitting ugly ones1

Material

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.

“When designing BERGMUND chairs, we wanted to create seating for the many people, any day of the year. And as life changes, so can the covers - to fit the season, a special occasion or your mood - take your pick from the various colours and lengths. The only thing that doesn’t change is the soft, cushiony comfort and the chamfered legs that allow the cover to fall smoothly over the frame. We hope these chairs allow you and your friends to relax and stay comfy a bit longer."
