Endearingly known as ‘crack cake’ in my household, the salted caramel version one ups this with the extra custard layer. This plain almondy just has a repeat of the icing inside between the cake layers. As I mentioned, good but not ‘eat the whole thing in one sitting without any regrets’ good.

Childhood favourite NicolePerfect dessert. Two different textures that complement each other. Not overwhelmingly sweet, yet very tasty. Buttery and nutty with coarser texture of the actual cake.
