The newly created Gift Registry launches alongside the IKEA App Checkout, a brand new digital tool improving the customer experience and speed at IKEA

IKEA Australia has launched two new digital tools with the aim of meeting the customer in new, innovative ways and making their IKEA shopping experience more convenient and personalised.

Never seen before at IKEA Australia, the IKEA Gift Registry makes gift giving and receiving simple, fun and memorable, taking the guesswork out of choosing the perfect present for milestone events like weddings, housewarmings, baby showers, birthdays or Christmas.

Giovanni Rutigliano, Country Digital Manager, IKEA Australia says “Customer behavior is always changing and we are constantly looking for innovative ways to best meet our customers at IKEA.

“We know our customers want to shop faster and more efficiently in-store and online. We’re excited that our new digital launches, the and the in-store App Checkout, will make the shopping experience simpler and more exciting, whether it be enabling a super-fast checkout or organizing for a gift giving event”.

Gift Registry: How it works

Customers sign in to their IKEA Family account to create their Gift Registry on the IKEA website and add desired products. They then share the list with one click to family and friends to browse, choose and complete their purchase online or at an IKEA store near them.

The IKEA Gift Registry updates in real time, so gift givers can see what has already been purchased and avoid any double ups.

IKEA App Checkout

After a successful pilot in IKEA Queensland stores, the IKEA App Checkout is now available for use across all 10 IKEA Australia stores, nationwide.

The IKEA App Checkout is a self-service feature to give customers a faster and more convenient checkout experience in-store.

IKEA App Checkout: How it works

Customers scan products directly on their phone as they are walking through the store shopping and place the items in their trolley or bag. They then scan the QR code and pay at the dedicated Mobile checkouts on the way out. There’s no need to unpack and repack trolleys or bags or wait in a queue.

To skip the line and save time, the IKEA App Checkout is activated via the IKEA app, or by scanning the QR code in-store.
