Kitchen cooking hacks made easy thanks to new bright and bold IKEA range

Range news3 August 2023
New IKEA range focuses on sustainability and affordability which makes cooking, preserving, and minimising food waste fun

3 August 2023: Boasting bright patterns and a retro colourway, the TABBERAS collection is designed for those who value spending time together in the kitchen and want to make their home a space for cooking and eating creativity.

The new IKEA collection introduces heat colour change technology to the kitchen. The TABBERAS oven gloves and coasters use a thermochromic pigment that becomes transparent in different temperatures, changing colour when exposed to heat higher than body temperature as an innovate heat warming system.

From textiles to kitchen gadgets, the range also includes patterned tea towels, tablecloths and aprons with water-repellent coating easy to wipe clean, a knife/peeler combination specially designed to be child safe, a strainer-funnel to simplify juice making, a food slice assistant for perfect slices and a vegetable slicer for adding an artistic twist to vegies.

The TABBERAS range was designed with affordability as a focus, with many items under $10, including the food slice assistant for $3, baking mould tray at $6, heat colour changing oven gloves ($9) and coaster ($4).

Christine Gough, IKEA Australia Life at Home expert, says “TABBERAS is the perfect addition to Australian kitchens. The bold colours and innovative design translate to the vibrant nature of Australian way of life, where cooking feasts and making meals for our family and friends are deeply embedded in our households. With many of the products child-friendly, TABBERAS makes it fun for kids to join in and be inspired by what they can create in the kitchen too.

TABBERAS helps Aussies live a more sustainable life at home by taking small actions like making sure leftovers do not go to waste, with products which make storing, conserving, and preserving easy.”

The collection also provides opportunities for sustainable living, offering fresh new ideas on how to get the very most out of food at home.  The stainless-steel, strainer-funnel, which is durable and dishwasher safe, can help extract all the liquid from your fruits and berries for no wastage, or the baking mould tray, made from food-safe silicon rubber that can withstand both extreme hot or cold temperatures, for baking or freezing batch cooking.
