IKEA unveils its newest children’s collection: GREJSIMOJS, for the joy and importance of play.

3 February 2026: IKEA is splashing a whole lot of 🫟 colour 🫟 into homes across Australia with a brand-new 29‑piece collection bursting with lighting, décor, toys, textiles and storage — all served with a cheeky twist. Say hello to GREJSIMOJS (go on, try it: grey-jee-moy-jss), the range that proves once and for all: play is for everyone.

Built for little ones and their grown‑up counterparts, GREJSIMOJS springs to life from insights in the latest IKEA Play Report, which shows that 21% of parents spend more time playing together than they did a few years ago and 54% of parents want to play more with their kids. These pieces aren’t just adorable, they’re sturdy enough for tumbles, giggles, curious hands and the occasional juice disaster. Even better? Prices start at just $6, because happiness shouldn’t come with a hefty price tag.

With GREJSIMOJS, play isn’t something added at the end. It’s stitched, sculpted and styled into every single piece. IKEA designers were given total creative freedom to blend childlike wonder with modern aesthetics. For adults, a punchy patterned rug may be a decor statement. For a crawling kid, it’s a safari landscape waiting to be explored.

Drawing inspiration from childhood memories of “don’t touch that!” household objects, designers flipped the rulebook and created the ultimate hands-on collection. Take the LED lamp: born from the idea of making something children should touch. With a movable head and gentle personality, it’s designed to welcome play, not restrict it.

As designer Marta Krupińska explains, “I love how it’s not just a lamp, but a gentle creature watching over you as you fall asleep. Playfulness is a lens that makes me believe everything is possible. Young or old, certain objects remind us there’s creativity hidden in the everyday.”

Some fan favourites even got a makeover. The iconic MAMMUT chair, an IKEA kids’ classic for over 30 years, now arrives in furry, feel‑good bright pink or electric blue. Storage solutions become delightfully whimsical, starring cat‑shaped organisers and mouse‑inspired speakers in playful purples and greens. And the storage pouffe? It doesn’t just have little feet… open it up and you’ll find a cheeky grin that transforms it into a friendly monster hungry to gobble up stray toys.
