IKEA announces Sydney Northern Beaches opening

Corporate news27 April 2023

New Plan and order point coming to Belrose this June

IKEA Australia has today revealed the location for its newest Plan and order point, set to open this June at HomeCo shopping centre at Belrose in Sydney’s Northern Beaches area.

Northern Beaches residents can get one-to-one, expert planning advice at the new IKEA Plan and order point. At 215m² in size, this is the second of the new, smaller IKEA format seen in Australia, following the first Plan and order point which opened at Highpoint in Melbourne’s west in September 2022.

The aim of introducing IKEA Plan and order points in Australia is simple: offering a more accessible and convenient shopping experience for customers.

At Belrose Plan and order point, customers can get expert, personalised advice for planning kitchens and wardrobes on the spot, either by pre-booking a planning appointment or simply walking in to browse.

While kitchens and wardrobe systems are on display to make planning those complex areas of the home easy, customers can also take advantage of the convenience of IKEA Belrose and pop in to place an order for any product across the full IKEA range.

Johanna Gbenplay, Market Area Manager, IKEA Australia says, “The Plan and order point format has opened up new opportunity for IKEA to be exactly where our customers need us to be, and this is a key part of our growth strategy for IKEA in Australia.

“We already have a strong presence with three IKEA stores in Sydney, but we will now be on the doorstep of the many people of the Northern Beaches area, who we know are avid home furnishers and renovators, but may have not considered IKEA as close or convenient for them previously.

“We have learnt valuable lessons from our first opening at Highpoint, Melbourne, and are anticipating an exciting response from existing and new customers when IKEA Belrose arrives in June.”

Bookings for planning appointments at IKEA Belrose will be able to be made via the IKEA website.
