IKEA Adelaide is now powered with sunshine

Solar energy is now flowing through to the store, expected to power up to 70% of store operations from the 3,024 panels across the 23,500 sqm rooftop. Together with our partners Planet Ark Power, Epic Energy, SA Power Networks and SA Government, the project will support the transition IKEA Adelaide to operating with 100% renewable energy by 2025 and be able to generate low cost and clean energy for the Adelaide community in the near future.
The 3.4MWH BESS battery storage will be installed in the coming months, followed by the carpark rooftop solar, which will help us get to our renewable energy goal in Adelaide.
This is an exciting milestone for the store, with lots of hard work and coming together to make it happen! It also represents a big step forward for our clean energy production journey for IKEA Australia.”
