Connie’s space reflects her love of nature with indoor plants and natural fibres that bring the outdoors in throughout her space.

Connie's spare room needed to fulfil many activities, including a space for her or her partner to escape to, or welcome a guest to stay. It needed to feel welcoming, warm, cosy, and be relaxing space to enjoy.

Home to me is a place that you can relax and somewhere that is peaceful and a sanctuary. I like having my home feel very loving as that’s where all my loved ones are.

Flexible furniture

A stackable bed accommodates different numbers of guests that could arrive at any time, as you can use it as two separate single beds or combine them into a double bed. It can even be left as a daybed for Connie or Tom to retreat to and enjoy as a reading nook.

Styling with greenery

Connie is an avid nature lover whose indoor plants are a large contributor to the decor throughout her home – she even has a dedicated plant room! A combination of hanging plants and large plants have been used to create a relaxing retreat. Connie says she likes to be “surrounded by nature as it brings peace and calm to the day.”

Working with textiles and textures

Soft nature inspired hues of warm whites, dusty pinks and natural fibres throughout the choice of cushions, bedlinen and rugs create a space that is both inviting and peaceful. “We have a lot of natural textiles in the space as it reflects the sunlight in a really cosy way.”
