How it works

Our pre-paired smart lighting kits work great on their own. But when you add the TRÅDFRI gateway to your home WiFi router and download the IKEA Home smart app is when the real magic happens. The gateway will now be able to talk to your connected smart lighting products. You can add smart lighting and control outlets (to make ordinary lamps smart). With the app, transform the mood of your home with the touch of a button or a tap in the app.

Get started:

  1. Download the IKEA Home smart app on App Store or Google Play. 
  2. Plug in the gateway. Plug in the power lead, then plug the ethernet cable into the Wi-Fi router and scan the QR code on the back of the gateway. 
  3. Pair the remote contol with the gateway. 
  4. Install each smart bulb. 
  5. Switch on the power for each LED bulb. Pair the remote with each LED bulb (leaving the switch on). 
  6. Adjust your lights through the IKEA Home smart app.
