At IKEA, it’s OK to change your mind - check out our generous 365-day return policy 

In Australia, IKEA accepts returns for products that have only been bought in Australia. 

Where the item is based on a change of mind, we accept items that are fully assembled). Please refer to our IKEA refund policy for full terms and conditions regarding our returns policy. 

If you’re not totally satisfied (or for a change of mind),  

  • The return must be made within 365 days of purchase. 

  • The original receipt of proof of purchase is required for returns. 

  • Refunds will always be made back to the original method of purchase. Your IKEA receipt will clearly state the purchase method (including last 4 digits of the card used to purchase). We can only provide returns where the original card is present. 

  • You can only return products bought from an IKEA Australian stores, via remote shopping or from our Australian online website 

  • We will give you a full refund after an assessment has been conducted and we are reasonably satisfied that the products are returned to us in re-sellable condition (we do not require original packaging). There must not be any obvious signs of damage or stains or marks on the item 

  • Any item purchased during a promotional period will only receive a pro-rata refund (less the promotional discount).

If you are returning a faulty item (that is not a major repair) that was not damaged by you, IKEA will either repair the item (at no cost to you) or offer you a refund. 

If the item requires a ‘major’ repair, you may elect (in accordance with Australian Consumer Law) from the following remedies: 

  • A repair (at no cost to you) 

  • Replacement of the item 

  • Refund of the item
