                Luxury quality on a budgetErinI purchased this countertop for my new home office because I wanted the look of solid oak desk, but I did not have a solid oak budget. I am very happy quality of this product. The woodgrain is beautiful and the finish is holding up well against my coffee spills. I also like how quickly and easily I can renew the finish with oil when the time comes.5

                Terrible productAnonymous reviewerThe so called 'wide planks' are created with just a superficial marking. By the time we added a coat of stain (a slightly darker oak) the plank design seemed to have dissolved and disappeared. The surface is Infact just a cheap wood veneer like a door skin. The underneath particle board is of poor quality and the end pieces (supplied so you can hide the particle board) are not even the same thickness as the counter top (they are about 1/2 cm deeper) and darn hard to trim down without breaking.1

                No extra edging stripsAnonymous reviewerThe piece comes with 2 edging but I made a mistake in trying glue them. I went to Ikea to try to get new strips only to find out that you cannot get extra strips. Ikea should really make it possible to get extra edging strips, otherwise be sure you won’t make any mistakes.1
                Needs thicker finishingAmanNeeds to have a thicker top finish. Also I needed to get a price to cover an edge as I had cut it to fit an awkward angle but ikea did not carry extra pieces for me to buy resulting in a wasted product as I was unable to use it because of that3
