A must for those who love garlic. With this powerful press you don’t have to peel the cloves. Just place in the insert and press. You can then remove the small insert and wash it by hand.

It's ok for the price.InayahIt works well and is easy to wash. But it doesn't take long for it to start flaking and getting a bit beat up. All I do I use it for garlic and then I wash it! Why is it so easily damaged? I ended up inheriting a vintage one from a relative which, while you cannot detach it for easier cleaning, has maintained its metal finish without any damage or chipping or flaking so I'm now using that instead of this one.3
Poor Quality - metal is paint coated and has started to flake offFergusWorks great but is not durable. Paint peeling after 1 month if use1

Love this!LauraMy first garlic press lasted 15 years before conking out. This replacement works just as well. For the great price, I hope it lasts as long!5

Best press I’ve purchased.AdamThis garlic press is likely the best one I’ve ever purchased. The value for money is incredible and the removable insert makes for very easy cleaning unlike a lot of other presses.5
New one was very bad qualityRakulI had one of these for several years until the hinge finally broke. I bought the exact same one to replace it but I immediately suspected they had reduced the quality as it felt noticeably lighter in my hands. After less than two months the replacement one broke, so my suspicion was unfortunately proven correct.1
Love this gadgetJudyThis garlic press works well and is much easier to clean than my old more expensive one. The joint is a little wobbly so hopefully it will last well.5
Simple, really effectiveLaraI used to be a fan of the IKEA garlic press that had the swing-open "gate", but they ran into troubles and are no longer for sale. So, I changed to this version. And now, I don't know why I stuck it out with the other variety so long. This little gadget is brilliant. Peel your garlic, push it into the little (removable) cage, flip the arm over, and press. Bingo - the finest, juiciest crushed garlic ever. It's better even than the hand cut, hand pressed/ground with the side of a knife type of crushed garlic. The small holes in the "cup" give you a very fine, juicy garlic almost-paste. And it's really easy to get the remnants out - either with a finger, or the end of the teaspoon. That would be my only suggestion for an "upgrade" - a little "waste" extractor, maybe pushed into the handle, that could be used to extract any missed skin, or non-crushed garlic (of which there is very, very little - it's extremely efficient.) No sign of mine breaking after a year of daily use.5

Solid utensilScottBought one years ago, use it all the time and often found ourselves using it twice in one day. So we bought a second one for convenience. Works really well.5

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing things – without losing its valuable properties.
