The ultimate vanity (teen girl edition)

Pretty much no one looks forward to the morning rush. Especially when you’re sharing the bathroom with your parents. And your siblings. Nope, no one’s into that. Here’s how we suggest revamping the routine. We even had a few tough critics (teenage girls) weigh in.

Make the morning rush a breeze

Every morning routine starts in the bathroom. Brush your teeth, hop in the shower... You know the drill. But after that, why linger any longer (especially when the rest of the family is lined up to get in)? A cart on wheels makes it easy to move bulky items from bathroom to bedroom, and each family member has their own shelf to save space.

Maximize your me-time

“I’m a beauty junkie, and a little tired of my makeup and moisturizers suddenly going missing,” said Inez, 18 (and pretty much every other teenage girl with a sister). Solution? A vanity in your bedroom gives you a bit more privacy and more space. Park the cart in a designated spot complete with outlets for hair dryers and curling irons.

Paint it, love it

The beauty of this IVAR cabinet is that it’s so easy to customize. We used a saw to cut a hole in the doors (because you might not want to share your stuff, but it’s too good to hide) and added simple fairy lights for a little glam and extra brightness for makeup application. Paint it to fit your style (using the same color as the walls helps it blend in), add an extendable mirror for close-ups, post a few inspiring beauty shots, and you’ll probably never want to leave.
