A firm 9½ in high mattress with individual pocket springs. Even distribution of body weight by comfort zones offers softer support for hips and shoulders. A thick layer of foam adds to the comfort.

5 comfort zones right where you need them support hips and shoulders, creating a natural spine alignment.

Pocket springs respond independently without transferring motion and follow your movements to support your spine and joints.

Edge-to-edge pocket springs allow air to circulate for better breathability and there is no loss of comfort if 2 mattresses are placed next to each other.

A thick layer of foam on top adds softness.

The soft quilted stretch fabric follows your body movements and has added wadding for more cushioning.

You can sit or sleep close to the edge without sliding off since the mattress has reinforced edges.

Add a pillow that suits your sleeping position and a mattress protector to keep the mattress clean.

    Sometimes the packaging may have given the mattress a noticeable smell which will disappear over a short period of time.

This is not a firm mattressKellyThe Valevag is a huge disappointment. For starters I have bought and enjoyed the now discontinued Haugesund mattress, medium firm - twice. Imagine how disheartened I was when I found out it was discontinued. The Haugesund was a perfect and affordable hybrid mattress. Best relaxing sleep. No hip or back pain. Now the difference between the discontinued Haugesund and the Valevag, a supposed replacement. The Haugesund had definite shape and form; the Valevag when placed on its side forms an arc. The sides of the Valevag are mushy, while the sides for the Haugesund provided support. The Valevag is like a marshmallow pillow made into the form of a bed. This is neither a firm nor a medium firm mattress. Not even close. My back and hips are hurting. This was a big waste of money.1

Mattress a few inches shorter than advertisedAmyThe mattress is fine for the most part except that it is a few inches short length wise, mine is closer to 70”. If used with a full sized bed frame, there will a pretty noticeable gap at the end of the bed (something like 4 inches). I definitely would not purchase this mattress unless you’re okay with this.1

The mattress works while you sleep

The comfort zones of our mattresses are simply zones that support your body in different ways to create a good a sleeping position. Slightly softer springs around the hip and shoulder, so they can sink softly into the mattress. And slightly firmer springs where, on the contrary, support is needed – such as for the legs and ankles. The overall effect is that your body does not have to work to find a comfortable position. Just relax and sleep well.

We’ve rolled around on our mattresses, spilled coffee on them and even lived with them much like many do at home. Not us literally, but our test lab machines.
