Rug AlexisGreat for our covered townhome patio. 5
Didn’t workLindsyLoved the look and price and couldn’t wait to get this home and down on my floors. It looks amazing! But, wouldn’t stay in place with opening the door. Sadly, I had to return.1
Great ValueLouiseHope that this washable cotton rug holds up after it is washed. It looks great, especially for the price.4
Amazing!SyedaThe size, design and quality is just amazing!!!! I love it!5
Cheap and practicalXianchunI like it very much, cheap, easy to use and easy to clean5
TerribleTriciaIt came folded, so I had to get the wrinkles out. It's flimsy. My bath towels are better. Low-pile is not accurate. It's like wet cardboard. The image is grossly misleading. If it costed more than 3 gallons of gas I'd be returning. I'm gonna cut it up and use to put shoes on at the front door.1
RugKarenLove it! Perfect size and love that I can pop it in the washer5

My second oneCarolinePerfect for the space I needed it for. Well made, machine washable, and is sturdy and durable.5
Slips all over the placeRobBought 2 to make it match, nice neutral color but slips all over the place even with an under mat. Looks like a pile of laundry at the end of the day that you can trip on. Tried to return both a week later but they would not take it back saying it was as is.2
great ltemDeboraheverything i bought was perfect5
Tiphede fits perfectlyStephanieFits like a glove5
Dog ProtectionKimThis is a great way to protect my new sofa from my dog. They are so sturdy! Keeping her toe claws from ripping the fabric was my concern. They are also lightweight enough that I can toss them in my washer and dryer. I bought 2 so I can switch them out and always have coverage.5
I bought this rug a second time after I ruined the first one by staining it.PenmanI like this rug for it’s simplicity. I put it next to my bed and it serves as a nice place to put my feet when I get out of bed.5
That price! Machine washable! 😻Sara W.Love a flatwoven, machine washable rug (must be washable!), so snapped up 7x9' TIPHEDE as soon as I saw it. THAT PRICE! And the natural/black color works just about anywhere, especially if you want a light, neutral vibe. One watchout is shrinkage — lost 2-3 inches after washing and hanging dry (no heat). But it washed fine with color-safe bleach alternative in my full-size-but-not-large washing machine. The rug is prone to wrinkles — it comes folded and therefore creased, and also tends to dry wrinkly. So you may want to stretch and smooth or even steam the rug if wrinkles bother you.  You'll likely need a non-slip rug pad — the STOPP FILT rug underlay is perfect and well-priced if you're not trying to add cushion.5
Great RugNatalieI use this rug to protect my floor from my bunnies. They can't destroy this rug after years of trying. I just bought a new one for when I make their space bigger.5
Love this rug!AngelaI’ve bought this rug twice for different areas in my home. The quality is great. I’ve seen the reviews where people are unhappy because of the creases/wrinkles. This is normal as most rugs are packaged folded or rolled. The rug will lay flat if you give it some time. You can also steam it to help with the wrinkles. It’s a good quality rug and you simply cannot beat the price.5
Cute and washableMichelleWe use this to just break up the space in my office. It’s also where the hamster enclosure is. It’s thin, washable and what I wanted and needed for my office.5
Very roughShainaThe rug is very rough and uncomfortable to even walk over1
Perfect blanketOliviaJust the right size for my husbands side of the bed. He loves it5

Our take on cotton

We use cotton in many of our products, from sofas and cushions to bed linen and mattresses. It is a soft, durable, and renewable fiber that breathes and is good at absorbing moisture. All these great qualities make cotton one of our most important materials, but it isn’t without its challenges, much having to do with conventional farming methods that negatively impact the environment and poor working conditions for farmers. With our size and production volumes, we want to drive change in the cotton industry.

Working together to drive change

Each year, IKEA uses around 0.5 percent of all cotton grown around the world. This may not seem like a lot, but the number is big enough to drive change in the industry. For many years, we have been working with partners and stakeholders globally to transform conventional large-scale cotton farming and set social and environmental standards for cotton production. As an example, we helped set up the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) who runs the world’s largest cotton sustainability programme. BCI exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future. Today, more than 110,000 farmers have adopted more sustainable farming practices within IKEA projects.

Ensuring compliance throughout the value chain

All IKEA products are produced in accordance with the IKEA IWAY Standard, our Supplier Code of Conduct. It sets out the minimum environmental and social standards expected from our suppliers, including compliance with local laws. We do not accept any form of forced labor, child labor or treatments in breach of our supply chain requirements. Our cotton teams across the globe ensure that all cotton used in IKEA products meets the demands of compliance in our supply chain. By having teams on the ground in areas where it has previously been challenging to work responsibly, we can challenge the traditional ways of working and improve the industry. If we discover that we are acting in places where we cannot ensure our requirements are being met, we follow-up on the ground and drive change.

Material

What is cotton?

Cotton is a practical and durable natural material. It comes from the seed capsule of the cotton plant, which forms small wads when it blooms. Cotton rugs are easy to care for because you can wash them in an ordinary washing machine and they can withstand high temperatures. Cotton is heavy when wet, so it's important to check that your machine has enough weight capacity. It's also good to know that cotton may shrink, so you may have to stretch the rug a bit after you've washed it.
