The hard-wearing solid pine has natural variations in grain, color and texture, giving every piece a unique look.
If you oil, wax, lacquer or stain the untreated solid wood surface it will be more durable and easy to care for.
There’s plenty of space under the bed for storage boxes - perfect for storing extra duvets and pillows.
You can easily vacuum under the bed frame to keep the space clean and dust-free.

So upsettingSamHad this bed for less three weeks and the wood split and mattress fell through.
No Slat IncludedMaryamI’m really disappointed with my experience. I purchased this bed frame with high hopes. As we checked out, the cashier told us to go back and get the center support beam, but we got home and realized the slats were also not included. However, on the website it is clearly detailed that the bed frame, center support beam, and slats are included the purchase. I’m frustrated that all the parts were not in the box, and the cashier had us go back to pay for something that should have been included in the box. So now, I’m here with a built bed, but no slats and extra money out of my pocket for the beam that should’ve been included. Not to mention, I do not live close to an IKEA to correct the inaccuracy.
Looks good, easy to put together.ColinEasy to assemble (with 2 people, preferably), looks nice.
Would Not Recommend BarbaraI am extremely disappointed in the bed frame. First the slatted wood frame are two separate pieces (one for the each side) so it’s constantly moving and as the earlier review mentioned, cracked. It hasn’t even been two months and less than 100 lbs sleeping on this bed every other day is so disappointing.
Other than that, the headboard has peeled off the white coating already.
I would not recommend. So disappointed in IKEA’s quality the past few years.
Great bed frame at a good priceKerryIm surprised by all the negative reviews. Although, some of them seem to indicate that folks didn't assemble it correctly. My 210 lb. body has been sleeping on mine for about 4 months now. No creaking noises at all. No slats sliding around and falling out...check them, there is a way to secure them if you put them on properly- there is very little insignificant, limited movement. The mattress doesn't sag. No design flaws. I'm satisfied.
BedWilliamI like it
Wood randomly crackedEilishI bought this bed in 2022 and had no issues with it until this year 2025. My husband and I assembled the bed correctly, we've taken care of it, and it's survived multiple moves without issue. Part of why I liked this bed was because it was so basic--I hoped to stain it and maybe even add some little decorative flourishes. Recently we were both sitting on his side of the bed, and the long piece of wood connecting the headboard to the "footboard" cracked right down the middle length wise. We are not heavy people by any means--about 380 lbs combined. I am 7 mos pregnant, and I do not not feel safe sleeping on a bed frame that cracked right underneath me. Who knows now if the whole thing will fall apart right under me. I tried submitting a warranty claim, but this product isn't covered.
Great except EdGreat except it other brand mattress does not fit this frame. The mattress I have extends over the rail with wise.
Nice for the $$$CliffPerfect for a guest bedroom. Easy to put together with neutral look and sturdy feel.
Great, until…KimberlyI had no issues with the frame, all the bolts and screws were fine during assembly BUT, then I tried to put my mattress in. The average width of a full mattress is 54’ wide, the area where the mattress goes 8in this frame is only 52’ wide. Not even a mattress from ikea would fit because they are 53’ wide. Why in the world would you do that?!!!! I haven’t found a mattress YET that will fit!!
TARVA Queen BedVickiIt’s wonderful. I coated mine with polyurethane just to protect it at little.
Guest Room RebeccaThis bed is in the guest room. It's a great size and comfy. Perfect
Good Bed with Outdated InstructionsSusanThe bed itself is just what we wanted - an affordable platform option for a second bedroom. We wanted something without a footboard (as we are a tall family) and that wasn't so low to the ground that older visitors wouldn't like it. This fit the bill. The issue we had was that the instructions seemed out of date - and we were missing dowels (due to the incorrect number being reflected in the instruction descriptions). One instruction was incorrect. We were able to problem solve it - but wish IKEA would review the instructions and update them.
Exceptional Craftsmanship OlabodeVery well crafted
Tarva bed, exactly as describedSueQuick and easy to put together. Matched the description online and simple and good looking just what we were looking for.
Difficult to assembleKathleenIts a time consuming job to assemble the bed, with lots of parts, but the biggest problem by far was that the predrilled holes for the metal tubes were too small in several spots which made that part of the assembly very difficult.
Looking over the IKEA reviews, I found at least 3 other posts with the same complaint in the last few months, and the same complaint in other places online (Reddit etc) as well. I should have looked at the reviews before buying, but my question is, why hasn't this been addressed already when it is a recurring issue?
You'd think it'd be better quality.Aidan209 dollars after tax isn't exactly cheap, so when I received everything you'd at least think they'd be straight. The cheaply made "Luröy" particle boards were extremely bowed. Still usable, but my mattress is literally sagging in the middle from how they're bowing. This is the first thing I've ever bought from IKEA and it will be the last.
Great ChoiceMaraWe're really happy with our choice as it is great value for money!
Disappointed - do not purchaseKathleenThis is the first Ikea purchase that has ever been disappointing. We purchased this for our daughter who moved into her first apartment at college. My plan was to purchase solid beginner furniture for her as she begins moving out. The MALM dresser unit is amazing and the ALEX desk has been great. Unfortunately the TARVA bed has not held up. We purchased the queen bed frame in July and put it together in August. We had to secure the base with additional purchased hardware in November as the headboard frame was literally falling apart. We will be purchasing more hardware to secure the bed frame again this coming weekend. It is unfortunate that we are are past the deadline to return as I would be making a trip back with this bed. Needless to say we will never purchase this line again. I would also warn anyone else to think twice before purchasing this bed as well. Disappointed in the quality of this Ikea line.
Bed Frame not steady enough to hold mattressKahsayMattress keeps moving which leaves gap between mattress and headboard. bed fame not steady enough to hold the matters where it should be. we have to adjust the matters almost every night.
