The rug is handwoven by skilled craftspeople and adds a personal and vibrant expression to your room.

The rug has the same pattern on both sides, so you can turn it over and it will withstand more wear and last even longer.

Ideal in your living room or under your dining table since the flat-woven surface makes it easy to pull out the chairs and vacuum.

  • To ensure you are satisfied with the size of the rug once you get it home, we recommend that you measure the intended floor space for your rug before you buy it.

    You will need 2 STOPP FILT rug underlay with anti-slip (5'5"x7'9") for this rug. Trim if necessary.

    Sometimes the material has a smell when the rug is new. This is only natural and the smell will disappear over time. Airing and vacuuming the rug will help to eliminate the smell faster.

    Contains sheep wool.

    Do not wash.

    Do not bleach.

    Do not tumble dry.

    Do not iron.

    Vacuum, shake and rotate the rug regularly.

    Remove dried spots immediately by scraping carefully towards the middle of the spot.

    Do not rub wet spots. Absorb moisture with paper towels, and clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent.

    Professional carpet cleaning when needed.

    Always use the standard floorhead, never the rotating brush, when vaccuming the rug.

    Wool rugs shed naturally, so regular vacuuming is recommended.

  • Use STOPP FILT anti-slip rug underlay under the entire rug for increased safety.This product has been tested for domestic use.

Not for high traffic areas, colors bleedChesleyThe rug is gorgeous, we were so excited because the colors were perfect for our space. Sadly, the details section is horribly misleading, you CANNOT use this in a high traffic area like a living room or dining room. The colors bleed at any amount of moisture, it’s incredibly difficult to clean up any messes from the weave. Unfortunately we’ve had to remove it from our intended space. Such a pity since we love the look, and we spent $500 for it.2

Form design process

Made using the pit loom weaving technique

The pit loom, as the name suggests, is positioned over a pit, and the wooden frame is angled for horizontal weaving. The artisan sits underneath the frame, and controls it with foot pedals and their hands, crafting rugs with intricate patterns and designs. This setup enables working from both above and below the frame, achieving a very tight weave. Producing a rug with this technique takes about 2-3 days, resulting in a work of art that can add character to any home.
