No batteries.RobynI thought this was a rechargable lamp, but when I got it home I realized it needed batteries. I went back to IKEA to get the batteries, but alas, there are none at the moment.1
Perfect for the recent power outages TerellI grabbed two of these when my friends power went out. He didn’t immediately care for them when they were sat on the table top so he told me to take them since I got other battery operated lights from ikea that were better for table and counter tops. On the way out leaving his place, I put them on the hooks he usually hangs flowers on above his front porch. He loves them and was happy the front porch was not so dark now and said he felt a bit safer. 5
Ideal Portable Outdoor LaternEddaGoing camping? Take this light with you. The cord makes it easy to carry where ever you go. It has a USB port so you can use rechargeable batteries. Not a fan of rechargeable batteries no problem. You can use disposable batteries instead. Three screws have to be removed to insert the chargeable batteries. A little effort to remove the screws but necessary to keep light weather proof. But once you install chargeable batteries when they wear down you just charge batteries through provided USB port. Easy-peasy. Glow is soft and won’t annoy your camping neighbors near by.5

Lights is soft , but ….need use battery.EdenI don't understand why it is designed like this. You need a screwdriver to remove the cover to install the battery. If you don't install the battery, you can just use the USB port to charge and it will start. Doesn't the designer think that the most important function of an outdoor power source is simplicity? And it's not easy to remove the screws. The introduction says that it is solar charging, but I haven't found out how to charge it with solar energy yet? I haven't seen the solar charging panel either. If it weren't for the gentle light of IKEA, I would never buy a light that is so complicated to operate. And the light is really dim. This is a common problem for outdoor lights in the same series. I really hope IKEA can improve it. IKEA is the most beautiful home design in my mind. I hope it can do better.2
Unsure how to insert batteriesCharlotteI'm very confused by this lamp, is has a port to be charged by USB-C and it will turn on while being plugged in, but when its unplugged it doesn't turned on. I did see that it says it requires batteries but i'm totally at a loss as to where the batteries would go... Do I have to unscrew the three screws that hold the lamp together? I can't find instructions online or on the packaging. The lamp is cute and the light it gives is nice, if only I could figure out how to make it work I would be happy with it.2
Cute lanternOrsolyaI thought this lantern was a lot smaller. It's okay. I can still use it. It gives off a soft glow. My only problem is that it eats up battery power very fast. So, I have to use it sparingly.4
Broke While Trying to AssembleEannaI was having difficulty getting the top to snap on. On one of my failed attempts, I managed to pop the little cover off the LED. Eventually, I managed to get the top attached. Wish it was a screw on or something easier. Lamp works still but disappointed in the quality. 1
