Fun and unique patternMelissaIt's a woven rug that comes in a cream and black color with a hint of bright red at the ends. If your using this in a high traffic areas than the dust will show the most on the black. Its nice and flat and I paired it with the "STOPP FILT Rug underlay with anti-slip, 5 ' 5 "x7 ' 9" so it doesn't move around. Overall its beautiful and still comfortable to walk on with socks, maybe not barefoot. A little pricey but usually all rugs are for this size, but the quality is great so its worth it. Just be aware if you have a cat they might like to scratch at it.5
Beautiful, sophisticated, modern design in natural woolDanikaOverall, we love this rug. The natural fibers and colors work really well to soften the modern furnishings that surround it, and bring a warm, but pulled together feel to the room. The only thing I wish were different is the braided black lines across the rug and down the center. They look a little cheap and feel weird under foot. In my opinion, it would be a better product if the whole thing were uniformly flat woven. But I still love it. It’s a sophisticated and timeless design. 4

Material

What is wool?

Wool is a practical natural material that usually comes from sheep. The raw wool is washed and then spun into yarn. Wool rugs have many advantages. They're soft, warm and comfortable to walk on, and they're also very hardwearing. They're stain-resistant too, because wool has it own natural oil. This means that dirt stays on the surface and doesn't penetrate into the rug. All wool rugs shed - some more, some less - vacuum them regularly to prevent the loose fibers from scattering.

Form design process

Made using the pit loom weaving technique

The pit loom, as the name suggests, is positioned over a pit, and the wooden frame is angled for horizontal weaving. The artisan sits underneath the frame, and controls it with foot pedals and their hands, crafting rugs with intricate patterns and designs. This setup enables working from both above and below the frame, achieving a very tight weave. Producing a rug with this technique takes about 2-3 days, resulting in a work of art that can add character to any home.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

When designing the autumn textile collection, I got carried away with big and bold graphical patterns. I started out drawing by hand, to get a lively feel. I like how the hand makes things naturally asymmetric. Random checks, untamed leaves, and details from nature were my inspiration. For me, Scandinavian design is not only simple, but also warm, nature-inspired, and often bold and large-scale. I hope you find this collection as happy and welcoming as I do.
