When we created NYMÅNE pendant lamp, we opened our treasure chest and found KLANG lamp from the 1960s. We added a dimmable built-in LED and let our designer give it a modern expression that fits the series well.

You can dim your lighting wirelessly and easily adapt the lighting based on activity.

You can choose to hang the pendant lamp over your dining table or closer to the ceiling for general lighting in the room.

The included light source will last for a long time, but if it breaks or stops illuminating it can be replaced with a new one.

By dimming the lighting, you change the mood in the room.

Using LED as a light source means that it not only lasts 20 times longer than an incandescent bulb, but consumes up to 85% less energy.

This lamp gives a pleasant atmosphere for dining, spreading direct light across your dining or bar table.

By connecting this product to the DIRIGERA hub, you get even more out of it and can also control it, together with other smart products, in the IKEA Home smart app.

This product allows wireless dimming. With IKEA Smart lighting, you can dim your lights without a hardwired installation.

The color temperature can be switched between 2200 Kelvin (warm glow), 2700 Kelvin (warm white) and 4000 Kelvin (cool white).

Confused SaraThe lamp mount cover is so tall, can’t figure out how to make it reach the hook to hang. I’m so confused. The screw that’s supposed to get connected to the mount isn’t tall enough to go through the cover. Send help! 3
First time I have been disappointed with IKEA,..AnnaI was excited to find this style of light at such a reasonable price. My husband and I were in the process of renovating our house and adding in a MCM look. The light had been hanging in our dinning room for a few months before something strange happened. I was dusting the lights and fans in preparation for guests. I put my hand on the bottom (where the light cover is) while I dusted the top, so it could stay in place. When I removed my hand part of the cover dropped. It is still attached but it is loose and I am unsure how to fix it. I thought I could order a replacement cover, but it doesn't look like you sell them. So, I don't know what else to do. This is why I rated it low, because it works well and it is the style we wanted, but it turned out to be too flimsy.3

I’m sort of sad that it requires a separate remote to actually get the full function out of the lamp. (Mainly changing the color temps. And it also dims! During installation I had to drill another hole in the ceiling since the lamp mount ran bigger than the mount already installed in the house4

Form design process

Recycled design

Sometimes it's not silly to look to the past. When we set out designing our new NYMÅNE pendant lamp, the goal was for it to have a modern yet timeless expression and a built-in LED which is glare-free. When we opened the lid of our old treasure chest of lamps, the choice fell on a pendant lamp from our range in the late 1960s. The lamp was called KLANG, and it had all the properties we wanted – and our designer gave it a shape that fits perfectly in the NYMÅNE lamp family.
