Good Price...A Bit WonkyRogerSo...I have paired the Bilresa remote with my TRÅDFRI IKEA lighting system...took a bit and you'll most likely need to go to YouTube to figure out how to pair the unit. The instructions that come with the remote are not complete. Once I went to YouTube and watched a video,I finally was able to pair the remote to the driver...sorta kinda. Yes, it will dim the lights and turn them off...but here's the catch...how you turn the lights off appears to change from time to time. Sometimes I can turn the lights off by pressing the large button then the small one...that seems to work most of the time. But also, if I dim the lights too low, they shut off as well...odd. At least once the remote disconnected from the LED driver and I had to reset. It's been stable since then...best I can say is that the remote is a good price...but a bit on the wonky side.3
Constant connection errors and issuesAustinWill not connect with multiple 3rd party hubs that support Matter devices. It's a documented and common issue.1
Under Cabinet Lighting RemoteSherryVery Nice! Works like a charm and very convenient.5
Annoying productJayWhen they work, they’re good. But they unpair from Dirigera when the hub is unplugged or new devices are added in the Ikea Home Smart app, and it’s an infuriating nightmare trying to get them to re-pair with the home. I can’t believe Ikea makes such an awful product, this was meant to be a fresh start for their smart products and they are awful. And the cookie-cutter Ikea reply to all these comments, “You’re welcome to return them,” is aggravating. How about instead of processing a zillion product returns, you just make the products work correctly to begin with?2
Works great with Apple HomeNghiButton works great with Apple Home and having the shortcuts helps.5
light switchBettylove the under counter lights, this remote makes them easy to use. Unfortunately the dimmer stopped working the first week of use.5
Works with Google Home AutomationsLuisGoogle updated the home app to allow button press as trigger in automation. I bought one of these even with the negative reviews. It's been working flawlessly, we wanted a convenient way of turning on/off front door and/or garage lights and this works perfectly. I did not use the Ikea app, only the Google Home app. It hasn't gone offline. I have 3 TPLink XE75 Pro mesh points for coverage and IPV6 enabled (if that matters). I'll probably buy more.5
Your missing out if you don’t have this!AndreJust I said “you are missing out” makes my smart home setup so much better. Highly recommend to use it. Easy to link up.5
Can't connect 2 switches to the same bulbEricI have a room with multiple entrances and you can't connect multiple switches to the same bulb so you have to walk in the dark to get to the switch at the far end. Easy to pair and works great without a smart home system otherwise3
Great big tiny pain in the … EhrinFirst, no instructions come with it. Didn’t think I’d need them being that I work for the HomeKit company. Kinda my wheelhouse. IKEA hub saw it but wouldn’t connect. Hard reset it. Still nothing. Tried pairing directly with HomeKit. Nope. Finally looked at the IKEA site instructions which say to hold it next to the light (or whichever smart item) and click four times. It paired. You have to do that for each item. Thought it was done. Uh uh. It unpaired the lights from the IKEA hub and HomeKit. Good grief. I won’t be going in these circles. No, thank you. 1
Eats batteries like snacksMikeI have used it a total of about 3 times. Sitting idle it chews through batteries.1
Doesn’t workClareGot this recommended remote for the lighted medicine cabinet. First one didn’t work, second one didn’t work either. IKEA issued a refund, however my electrician and his helper worked on this for about 4 man hours meaning I paid A LOT for an item that never worked. Ended up with a separate wall switch.1
Here’s how to Connect:ChristopherIf you’re like me and could not figure out how to connect this switch, take off the cover and hold down the middle button for ten seconds until the switch resets. Then turn on the product you’re connecting to. Hold the switch up next to the lamp’s power supply or (wherever the plug enters the product) and wait for the yellow light to flash quickly. No buttons pressed, it just needs to be next to the product’s antenna. It should now be paired. This took me a week of looking around until I finally found a non-ikea YouTube video. This simple switch should be easy to shoot a video and put on the product page in a day. This QR code digital instructions with broken links and information void is very frustrating. I haven’t connected to my AppleTV since that has not worked either.3
I guess I know why it's so cheapJohnPairing process doesn't work, successfully paired one with horrible lag, 2 more won't pair at all. Tried with dirigera, home assistant, and apple home. Very frustrating.1
Works Great, Hoping For UpdateAnthonyI've been able to set up many customizations for the buttons and love it. It'll be great for when my mom visits, she won't have to try talking to Siri to control lights! However it occasionally disconnects from HomeKit and I have to use Turn on Pairing Mode (or Remove Accessory and set it up again). Hope there's a firmware update pushed out for it and I don't know how to tell IKEA what's wrong. Overall though? Love this device!4
More capable than I expectedStevenWorked perfectly in my Apple Home without any issues. I was just expecting a simple on/off switch, which was all that I needed. Each button can have 3 actions assigned in Apple Home. Short press, long press, double press. I’m satisfied.5
Just OkayJoshCan be slower to act on commands than the older non-matter switches. There is a design/UI issue on their app where it shows as if you can set different actions for long pressing the top and bottom buttons, but in reality it makes you set one action for long press that applies to both buttons :{3
Can't get the remote paired up to the lamp!!SusanI even took the remote back to IKEA and had a staff member try to link up the remote to the lamp to see if it worked...it worked in the store but I repeated the same steps at home and it STILL doesn't work or pair up to dim! Very disappointed!1
Worked once and never againKI got this set up the day I bought it. I used my Amazon Echo as a hub and then it stopped working. I’ve replaced the batteries, removed it from the Alexa app and rewarded. All to no avail. I was excited for this inexpensive smart button but it’s disappointing that it stopped working after one day.1
Hard to keep connected.BryanThese work, and are recognized by Home Assistant without issue - but they can be hard to work with. I have one currently on my system, if I do not use it for a few days it requires a ping, battery pull, or just general messing with in order to be recognized again. I'm not sure what's going on or why this happens - would the official hub work better here?3
