Great bunk option, need thin top mattressClaireThe mydal is a great option for a bunk bed. Was relatively easy to put together. It would be very helpful if the website clearly stated the maximum mattress thickness for the top bunk.
Great but could use some flexibilityEricWould love if you could choose a different ladder that could go on more of an angle vs straight up or include an option to add some handles to it or rotate the steps for more surface are so that don't dig into the bottom of your foot.
Great bed for the priceErinEasy to assemble and it fit in my jeep to bring home. Took maybe 2 hours with a few minutes of breaks to put together. All in all my 16 and 14 year old boys like it and says it feels strudy.
Great quality bunk bedKeriOverall really happy with this bed. No creaking, very sturdily built, nice solid wood. Be prepared though...this will take a long time to put together. My husband and I spent about 6 hours assembling this bunk bed.

Mydal bunk bedJamilleThis is a poor product. 1) It took over 4 hours to build. 2) The parts were not labeled. 3) The top bunk can only safely accommodate a thin mattress. 4) The ladder hurts your feet when you climb because you are climbing on the thin edge of the piece of wood instead of a larger flat edge. 5) The lower bunk does not have enough clearance. I smoked my head on it when I leaned in to give my child a hug.
I am seriously considering returning this product, even though it would be a giant pain to disassemble.
so soWilliamA few of the boards were warped, making flat pack assembly difficult. The instruction illustrations also failed to depict certain distinguishing characteristics of some boards, like predominant grooves, making identification difficult. Yet now that it's put together it feels solid.

Great bunk for kidsTrudyBought this 3.5 years ago and still love it. Helpful to install with 2 people total. Note max weight specifications (220 lbs) which affected sleeping arrangements for us when guests are over. Also one is prone to bumping one's head against the top bunk while sitting on the bottom bunk. However we like that the top bunk isn't so high - the person on the top bunk can comfortably sit even with a lower ceiling. Highly recommend!
Great quality at a great price. BarryI do lots of woodworking, but when I priced out building a set of bunk beds, I couldn’t come close to building a set for what I could get by buying the set fro IKEA! No directions, but easy (for me) to put together. Someone with no wood working experience might have some missteps. But if you follow the diagrams closely. It goes together perfectly. About 2 1/3 - 3 hours total. Also bought 2 mattresses that fit perfectly and are very comfortable.
