IKEA of Sweden

  • The mattress cover is removable in two parts so it is easy to take off and air out. The top part is also machine-washable.

All of our mattresses can be used immediately, but keep in mind that a packaged mattress only regains its full shape and comfort after approximately 72 hours. Your body also needs a couple of weeks to adapt to the new mattress.

Sometimes the mattress has a noticeable smell when you open the packaging. The smell isn’t harmful or toxic and disappears over time. Airing and vacuuming the mattress helps to eliminate the smell faster.

Product is possible to recycle or use for energy recovery, if available in your community.

To be completed with a slatted bed base or a slatted mattress base.

Very Firm and SupportiveKatrina S.This mattress is the best! I have had hybrid and sprig mattresses that were $1500 plus and this one s so well. If you like a very firm mattress that has support, then this one is or you. I used a down filled mattress cover on top of it and it was perfect!5

Nice and practical mattress.DanielNice and practical mattress.5
Back pain reliefElizabethNot to have springs pressing my back is such a relief. My best sleeps were napping on my sofa with foam cushions so I tried the IKEA solid foam mattress. It was really solid at first but over time it began to soften. The sides seem reinforced and firm which I like. I purchased a thick fiberfill mattress cover to give a bit of cushion. All in all I’m very satisfied5
Too bouncy for foam mattressBEATA L.We bought it for our 12 year old daughter. It was perfect in the show room but not comfortable at home - too bouncy. We wish we could return it as there is no other comfortable matter in twin size available for exchange. The better ones come only on full/queen and king size. Ikea Customer Service! Please help!2
It’s plain comfortable to theConstantineIt’s plain comfortable to the point you say nothing about it.5
Twin mattressFenellaNot good for long-term use. May be good for younger child, but not supportive enough for a heavier child. Will have to replace soon.2
Worst mattressLaura H.This mattress is seriously so stiff it’s like sleeping on cardboard on the floor. I couldn’t even finish the night sleeping on it I went to sleep on the couch. I woke up with back pain and knots. Really disappointed…not worth 300$ save your money. I will definitely be returning the mattress1
Very poor quality. Disappointed with IkeaVASUDEV D.Been using queen Morgedal since 2 years which is wonderful. Bought a King version last month and it has been horrible since day 1. It did not expand to its mentioned thickness. Not at all firm. Already sinking in multiple locations. Didn't expect this from Ikea!1
MorgedalPAULAThird one we’ve bought and all family members are thoroughly happy sleeping on them!5
GoodNataliaI was told by some people that Ikea mattresses were not good but still decided to buy one after I went to my moms house and felt the one on her bed, it felt pretty good, so O bought one for myself and I’m not disappointed, good deal and quality5

Roll-packed – not just easy to take home

Most of our mattresses and all mattress toppers come roll-packed. This saves space and costs less to transport, allowing us to also reduce our carbon footprint by having fewer trucks on the road. We can then pass our cost savings on to you and you can take home your new mattress or mattress topper more easily. It’s a win-win situation for you and the environment.

What is foam?

Foam is excellent as upholstery in seating and mattresses since it provides good comfort and can relieve pressure by moulding to the body. Depending on the properties and feel you’re looking for, there are several qualities to choose from, like high-resilience foam and memory foam. The raw material for foam was previously based entirely on virgin fossil materials. But today, together with our suppliers, we’ve begun developing a material that is renewable and recycled.

Designer thoughts

"As a designer I’m inspired by patterns, so I began creating the mattresses with lots of shapes in mind. Dots, stripes and squares, combined in all sorts of ways. Suddenly I remembered the quilted winter coats of my childhood – and the pattern was born. Different squares for different sizes, and seams on the thinner mattresses that make a striped pattern. The number of seams increases along with the price and the quilted squares give extra support. I hope you’ll find a mattress to suit both your body and your wallet."
