Great idea but will return if I canJudithSo last time I was at Ikea I bought one, thinking I'd try it and get more if I liked it. Brought it home, opened it. Yep, no power supply, no plug, just a light.
Now about a year later, make it to Ikea (3 hours from home), get more lights. Don't see anything that looks like a power supply or anything with a plug, so I asked what I needed.
Ikea employee pointed me to Ansluta, said it was all I need. I said it didn't look right, there's nothing in the light to plug into the box, he assured me it was all I need.
Get everything home (3 hours from Ikea), open Ansluta and one light-there's nothing to plug into the box so now instead of having one useless light I have 4 useless lights and a useless piece of cabling.
I may be making another trip to near Ikea in a few weeks. If so I will be returning as much as I can and going to Home Depot to get a light I know I can use.
Warm white/yellow lights but good brightness when used in multiplesIanThis may be long but is a simple detail review covering gaps in instructions and good Youtube videos online are hard to find.
I used this Tradfi (power driver), Mittled (light strips), Rodret (wireless on/off switch), Ansluta (power cord), Vagdal (wiring).
I've done other installs with Ribbonflex stuff, chose this for my daughter's closet as it looked more simple. This was plug and play, make sure your led rating doesn't exceed your power supply rating, otherwise buy what I did.
Install was basic, figure out where you're securing the driver, wire cabling, led mounting and then go. The driver uses 1 power cable that is long with a toggle power switch, otherwise each led uses a single cable run to the driver unless you string the led units together to make a big led strip.
Biggest gap is the Rodret setup. What's missing..put battery in the Rodret unit, use pin on the sync button on the Tradfi driver and then hold sync button on Rodret while holding against driver.

How many parts do I need to buy? JamesI can't figure out IKEAs lights. Apparently nothing comes ready to use. You have to add on all sorts of other parts. $6 for this, $8 for that. Just put everything in ONE box!! Why does it have to be so complicated?
Mittled Under Cabinet LightingPeterlove that I can link it to lights in the other room
Awesome- transformed my kitchen!MarkI used 3x 18" and 1x 24" MIttled strips, one 30 Watt driver, and all the wires needed. It took me about 3 hours to install them, drilling into the top and bottom of the cabinets (5/16") to run the wires, vacuuming up the mess, and putting the power supply on top of the cabinets.
At the store I was a little concerned about whether they would be bright enough, but they're perfect. I can now see well when I'm preparing food, and especially when I'm cleaning the countertop.
I got one of the zigbee dimmer switches to use with them and it's great! The light is a warm white color and it dims very nicely.

Incomplete LightingAnonymous reviewerI wasn't aware that these were being sold without the actual light inside, you're basically only paying for the shape of this strip, older reviews hint they were sold together. I am disappointed that I have to spend extra on the light just for it to work. Don't get me started with trying to return this now, the closet Ikea is hours away, and return shipping is simply not covered. Will have to find a way to resale this incomplete item, because I was not disclosed. (If I am not reading the listing wrong, the extra light is $40?? Too much for that.)
Undercabinet lightsAnnemarieThe under cabinet lights are great. Slim and unobstrusive. But they should be sold as a package, rather than piece meal. The light tracks themselves are useless unles you by the power connector and cables
Fixture nice, light color is awfulAnonymous reviewerHad cabinets installed and lighting. Too bad no one said the light would be yellow/ soft/ warm light. Yuck. Looks like light from the 70’s and doesn’t look good with all my other new overhead lights and appliance lights. What a pain. Huge disappointment. My IKEA kitchen may never get finished.
Works fineQiangUnit looks nice and elegant. But both ends have areas of darkness. Easy to install. Must plan ahead for best location of the drivers.
Very basic "solution"RichardDo you like your countertops to be lit with the color of a dehydrated person going to the loo?
Do you want some of the pieces to fit the cabinets sold by Ikea, but some of them to not?
Do you want a kit that doesn't have any connectivity accessories to help connect pieces that aren't side by side?
Then this is the lighting system for you!
But if you want something that provides decent color, can actually be used on all the various cabinet sizes you might get, and has better support then "there's no way to connect them like that", then you need to go elsewhere.

No filler pieceSilasWhen I previously purchased these, they included a filler piece that went at the end of a run of lights to hide the connection port. It seems they no longer include this piece or offer it anywhere so the end is rather unsightly.

Bright, dimmable, easy installPascaleMake sure you have all the right components and install will be easy. If possible, install brackets prior to raising cabinets onto rail. I installed these on sektion cabinets. Can connect several to each other. Can control several that are connected to transformer (not included). Control (not included) can turn on and off all mittled as well as dim. Very low profile. Either use light bar trim or cut down panel. You cannot see the light unless you look under the cabinet. Super slick. Very affordable.
Design handicaps use in actual kitchensMattyI really want to like this. I like the integration with the smart home very much. But when it comes to the actual devices, I just keep wondering if whoever designed it ever tried to actually install it in a kitchen?
Where to start? Sizes and instructions assume you have ikea kitchen cabinets, otherwise you are on your own.
You can daisy-chain these BUT only if they are butting each other. If, like every kitchen I have ever seen in my life, you have cabinets at different heights like, say, over your sink or stove, they assume you will get another $6 wire from them sold in exactly one size, 3m, no more no less. If you need longer than that, you're looking at more drivers, driver connector wires, etc.. - instead of just a two foot connector from one light to the next that would solve 99% of the problems.
They also assume you can magically run all your wires BEHIND your cabinets. Again, I don't think the designer has ever been in a kitchen.
The light is good, but does not come with the cable…MichaelI can understand purchasing the driver separately, but the wire to plug the light in is a necessity to make the item work. I still haven’t installed it because I haven’t had the chance to go to the store and the cable isn’t able to be shipped.
Discrete TaraThese light bars are small and easy to hide from sight. We are mostly pleased. The only surprise was that with the amount of wiring and adapters that it actually doesn’t do more than dim.
No plug?!DanI bought this in the store and am now at home realizing that it needed the plug which is sold separately. By the time I picked this up at ikea I was so fatigued… I really wish the box were clearer. Just write “no plug included”! Or you could just include the plug as an option in the box, seriously... I live very far away from the store so now I’ve got this useless thing for a year or so until I get back there.
Light good remote not soSharonLove the light s under my cabinets. However the remote does not work easily when trying to turn on or dim the lights.
Nice lightsGregGreat light. Did a whole kitchen install, light is warm and natural. I am handy with tools so install was easy, if your not have someone help. I wish they offered a shorter connection wire, ended up with a large mass of wires, (bundled them neatly) but it seemed unnecessary.

What is aluminium?
