The team interviewed groups of children who got to try out prototypes and provide their points of view. What were their favorite colors? What did they think of the paper? “The children had very strong and sensible opinions. We also realized how they use drawing and painting gear. For example, if you’re four years old and in the middle of making a drawing, you don’t always think of putting the cap back on the felt pen. So, these pens will last up to three days without caps.” To ensure high quality at the right price, the development work was allowed to take extra time. “What children do and how they do it is super important. Not just for kids! KatharineI use this as a lap desk along with a book stand IKEA no longer sells for my 13" iPad Pro. Both fit in with no difficulty in closing it. I'm able to put a smaller, flatter charger in there and the charging cord in the zipper pocket. Not only does it work as a lap desk for my iPad, but it also is another layer of protection for it. I'm planning a road trip and this will be perfect to use my iPad to access my streaming subscriptions while at a hotel lounging in bed.

Wood Looks Different In PersonJaneThis product is a little thinner/doesn't have as much internal storage as I was expecting. The wood also looks very different that what's pictured which was a little disappointing. I like the look of the pale wood, and the wood on the one I received was more honey colored and has a glossy stain on it. Maybe it's a product update so it's easier to wipe marker off or something? Regardless, it's a bit underwhelming and won't hold as much as I was hoping, but it does serve its purpose.

Drawings all over the kitchen table and colored felt pens without caps. Does it sound familiar? This is definitely part of living with children, and actually something to be happy about. Painting, drawing, and crafting are in fact not just fun, but important work, and a way for your child to develop. When we created the MÅLA series, we wanted to take children’s creation very seriously and listened to the true experts: the children themselves.
We always start with the child’s perspective to understand what they really need. In this project, we found facts and inspiration in pedagogy focusing on creativity. “We realized that creativity isn’t just any play for children, they’re little researchers who use creation to understand the world around them,” says Ina Tidbeck Sjöblom who was part of creating the MÅLA series.
