The Fix for the PaperBethanyI came here to say that this item didn’t work correctly and ripped the paper as it rolled out. HOWEVER - I had the paper in the wrong way. The paper needs to come from the bottom of the roll, instead of from the top - think of the wrong way to load toilet paper. If you pull it into the red cutter from the top of the roll, it goes down in at the rounded corners and rips it. If you pull the paper in from the bottom of the roll it cleanly goes under the cutter. Hope this helps someone else!5
PAPER FITS! Here’s how:IuliaIf the paper doesn’t fit, just flip it so it goes under the roll. Then it will fit :)5
Christmas giftTishThe grandkids will love this with the paper roll! Great gift idea!5
Doesn’t fit the paperSophiaHow can this get anything but one star when it doesn’t work as intended at all? The red plastic part that should hold and then cut the paper rips the paper the entire time. Sure, I could return it. I’m 3 hours away and it wouldn’t exactly be worth a 6 hour trip, but no, this thing isn’t worth any amount of money. It simply isn’t constructed to work.1
Great for classroomBryanI got this so that I could store and retrieve paper for large classroom posters. It is great and I am using it with paper I already had. I will review the paper soon, but even if the paper doesn’t work out this will still be used with whichever paper I am using for safe storage5
I use it as a paper holder/cutter for my crafts.MargaretI use sublimation to imprint graphics onto Tshirts, bookmarks, mugs, tumblers etc. Butcher paper is used to protect my heat press. While this is meant for a child’s writing paper, it works great to hold my butcher paper and allows me to tear off an even piece easily. Thanks IKEA!5
Art paper holderAnonymous reviewerJust what I was looking for. Like that it doesn't take up space on the table.5
it is great itemMoeunI thought i put paper roll right way my husband fix it for me and my son it is really worthy to buy!5
No room for an easel! AnnaThis thing is amazing if you need to be able to store kids stuff easily. I LOVE it! My kids get so pumped when I get it off the shelf. It’s always fun. 5
Awesome product!!!KyleSo we had the big rolls of these in school, and I never thought I would be able to own something so practical, affordable, and easy. With four kids this is absolutely perfect5
Cheap hardwareAndreaProduct itself is fine for what it is. But, the hardware included was cheap and screws stripped. What should have been an easy assembly process ended up being more of a hassle. 3
Kids paper cutterMaggieGood product and service. Easy to assemble5
Great for craft roomTerryI was looking for something to hold my butcher paper I use for sublimation. The roll fits perfectly. It was super easy to put together and use. 5
Love it! JessicaJust bought this for my 1 yr old. Best option out there for endless scribbling. Works perfectly. Paper feeds under the cutter- no issues with the roll being too large. 5
Paper holder KiaraThe product was everything I expected, very good, I recommend it.5
For Kitchen Parchment PaperBrandiI purchased this actually for use in the kitchen and it is perfect! Cleanly cuts the parchment paper every time, and now I don't have to worry about that awkward box and sharp edge that it comes in. 5
Sad this Does NOT work. KarenThis is very inconvenient because the paper roll is larger than the red cutter so the paper gets stuck and rips as you are trying to pull this out. I would like to try to return but seems more of a hassle since my nearest ikea is 2 hours away. Sad this didn’t work since it is very aesthetically organized for the room. 1
A perfect way to organize!AnnaStores paper rolls neatly. At the same time, the shelf holds and organizes drawing materials. All in one place!5
Child CreativityJohnThis is amazing. It fits perfect on the childrens table and it simple to build and use. Can double as a wrapping paper holder.5
Neat!KongI like it and roll paper to keep us clean than dirty. 5

For all creative little explorers

Drawings all over the kitchen table and colored felt pens without caps. Does it sound familiar? This is definitely part of living with children, and actually something to be happy about. Painting, drawing, and crafting are in fact not just fun, but important work, and a way for your child to develop. When we created the MÅLA series, we wanted to take children’s creation very seriously and listened to the true experts: the children themselves.

We always start with the child’s perspective to understand what they really need. In this project, we found facts and inspiration in pedagogy focusing on creativity. “We realized that creativity isn’t just any play for children, they’re little researchers who use creation to understand the world around them,” says Ina Tidbeck Sjöblom who was part of creating the MÅLA series.

Made for busy artists

The team interviewed groups of children who got to try out prototypes and provide their points of view. What were their favorite colors? What did they think of the paper? “The children had very strong and sensible opinions. We also realized how they use drawing and painting gear. For example, if you’re four years old and in the middle of making a drawing, you don’t always think of putting the cap back on the felt pen. So, these pens will last up to three days without caps.” To ensure high quality at the right price, the development work was allowed to take extra time. “What children do and how they do it is super important. That’s why we considered all their feedback and made sure the products met their needs.”

Easy to get started

The MÅLA series has been around for a long time, but it keeps growing and evolving as we see new needs and get new ideas. All parts should be easy to grab and use whenever inspiration strikes. “The child shouldn’t need a parent nearby to start drawing or painting. Being able to do things on your own is an important part of development. You grow with the task.”

Quality

Creative geniuses come in small sizes!

Paint! Draw! Shape! The MÅLA series has everything a child needs to unleash their imagination and creativity – and store drawings. There’s an easel, colorful modelling dough, grip-friendly brushes and scissors that suit tiny hands, and paint that is easy to mix and wash off. No nagging your child to put caps back on the felt-tip pens – they survive 3 days without caps. And everything’s non-toxic. Since we care just as much about the next generation’s creative minds as you do.
