Do not use the screws that were suppliedKateriThe screws that were supplied for the 2 thin boards on the top of this are to large and they crack the wood. Find smaller screws or just use a small nail to put this together.
Ok+MollyThis item works fine, but it falls short in a couple of areas. First, it's a bit difficult to assemble (and I've been assembling IKEA products for nearly 40 years, so I'm an expert). Second, it would be great if it didn't take three hands to operate. Some way to affix it to a table, or perhaps make it heavier? The cutting edge (appropriately not sharp) should possibly clamp down? It's awkward, but for the price, hardly worth complaining.

The Fix for the PaperBethanyI came here to say that this item didn’t work correctly and ripped the paper as it rolled out. HOWEVER - I had the paper in the wrong way. The paper needs to come from the bottom of the roll, instead of from the top - think of the wrong way to load toilet paper. If you pull it into the red cutter from the top of the roll, it goes down in at the rounded corners and rips it. If you pull the paper in from the bottom of the roll it cleanly goes under the cutter. Hope this helps someone else!

I use it as a paper holder/cutter for my crafts.MargaretI use sublimation to imprint graphics onto Tshirts, bookmarks, mugs, tumblers etc. Butcher paper is used to protect my heat press. While this is meant for a child’s writing paper, it works great to hold my butcher paper and allows me to tear off an even piece easily. Thanks IKEA!
