fun for grandchildrenMELODYBought for my granddaughters for Christmas. Absolutely love that you can put rolls of paper on one side, and use chalk on the other. Very inventive, gives the kids 2 sides to color, etc.5
OptionsPatriciaLove this. I like how the drawing area is lower than most, the options it has with paper, chalk, and markers and paint. Your child can begin their creativity early5
NicecrystalThis easel is nicer than the last one. The plastic spots to hold items are smaller than the last easel with big. Wooden platform for items. The pole for paper roll is in a more convenient spot than the last one.5

Perfect PresentMonaI bought this for my Grand-daughter. She loves to "scribble", so this will be perfect for her in 3 different ways! It should keep her interest for a long time.5
What a wait!ImperiaI’ve waited almost 2 years to get these for my Grandchildren. It was worth it. Good sized, appear sturdy, haven’t opened because they are gifts along with paper and markers. I’m excited to give them! With two sides they will have double the fun!5
Great asset for child’s roomVALERIELoved it and very easy to install, only thing is I wish an eraser was available through IKEA as well.5
EaselSHARONMy grandson loves his new easel and I love that it is a white board on one side and chalk board on the other. He is able to use both, its great when we are unable to go outside and chalk. The only thing I would recommend is paper that is plain for little ones the only paper I could find at the time I purchased had intricate images to color for older children. I was able to purchase on Amazon without any problem.3
PerfectLouieMy 2 yrs old son loves it! He loves to draw and paint with this easel board.5

Lacking qualitydaniel s.The easel stands and operates fine when you write on it, however, erasing anything requires a lot of work. I wouldn’t recommend this product unless you’re on a very tight budget.2
Great for priceBRITTANYThis easel is super sturdy and is well made. My daughter loves it and has been wanting one for a while. This was honestly the best price out there for the quality.5

For artists in all sizes
After more than 20 years in the range, the MÅLA easel is a real hero that millions of children have loved. But nothing is so good that it can’t be improved. So, we rolled up our sleeves and tweaked several important details. After that, we asked some parents what they thought of the prototype. Their input helped us make the easel even smarter.
“Through the years, we’ve got some comments on the easel. For example, that the paper roll was difficult to roll up, and that it was complicated to fold up and store away the easel.” tells Jorge Omar Santoyo Henaine, who works with product development at Children’s IKEA.
Good can get better
Together with the supplier and designers, we didn’t only manage to correct the problems; we also lowered the price and extended the drawing surface down to the floor. “It makes it possible for smaller children to reach a larger surface, and older children can sit down on the floor when they draw and paint.” But was the easel good enough now, or could it get even better? “To find out, we invited parents in a store to test and comment. This way, we could ask questions and listen to their reflections.”
Easier to paint – and clean up
Parents appreciated that the tray for pens, brushes, and paint is made of easy to maintain plastic instead of wood. But they thought it should be on both sides so two children can draw and paint at the same time. And one parent said: “My child spills and makes a mess, I want to be able to rinse the tray in the sink.” “It convinced us that it’s better if you can remove the trays. We want to make life more simple and more creative for both the children and their parents, and to succeed it’s crucial to involve them like we did that day in the store.”
Creative geniuses come in small sizes!
Paint! Draw! Shape! The MÅLA series has everything a child needs to unleash their imagination and creativity – and store drawings. There’s an easel, colorful modelling dough, grip-friendly brushes and scissors that suit tiny hands, and paint that is easy to mix and wash off. No nagging your child to put caps back on the felt-tip pens – they survive 3 days without caps. And everything’s non-toxic. Since we care just as much about the next generation’s creative minds as you do.
