The holder has a sticky backing that holds well. There are other options that are probably more effective, but I think these are meant to be seen as much as they are about their function.4

The material is not strong enough to securely lock the cables in place and the adhesive cannot hold any weight. I added tabs to name and ID each cord and adhered this to the bottom of my desk using a Velcro strip (not included). The adhesive that came with it was too weak to stay put on my desk, but that's an easy fix and for the price, I'm happy with these. Three in a box is a deal!4

The packs come with a two cable and a five cable "small" and a two cable "large". The large is a little too big for monitor power/hdmi/displayport cables. Maybe making medium size, then packaged as each size would make buying for specific use a bit easier. 4
