I love that it doesn’t only do what I need it to, but also comes apart easily for clean up without coming apart (you’ll see what I mean when you use it), plus the price I paid for it is at least $5 less than the last one I bought over 15 years ago at a different place. as another said, the plunger is well made but not a tight fit for the well, so the crushed garlic squeezes through gaps and makes a mess, albeit that garlic is still crushed and can be used
its needs a brush and spatula to clean out garlic stuck to the press, I use a silicone baby spoon to brush off large pieces, and small pieces and those stuck to the holes I clear out with a manual toothbrush, fresh crushed garlic is very sticky particularly on fingers but less so on silicone and plastic toothbrush4

Too many parts, BAD DESIGNTillie D.The swinging gate design is cumbersome and unnecessary, there is no way to easily swipe the garlic off the press with a knife because the mesh and the barrel are not flush. The press does not always swing down into the barrel making it impossible to use unless you manually place the press foot into the correct position. With one clove of garlic the handles are so wide it is uncomfortable in my hand.1
The BestSerenaI used one of these for at at least 10 years, but it finally broke. I was in a fancy kitchen goods store, and spent over $20 on a fancy schmancy one. I hated it.
The next time I was at IKEA I bought myself another Värdefull. Best $7 spent on a kitchen gadget. It is easy to use (my hands weren't strong enough to use the fancy one I bought), and easy to clean because of that swinging open feature.5
