Despite being firmly grounded in the science of play, the design process was as playful as the products themselves. Each designer was asked to start in the everyday activity where they get lost in the moment and simply have fun – and to create items that make people smile. “To me, playfulness is a way of looking at life that boosts creativity and makes me believe that everything is possible. I won’t ever allow my inner child to grow up”, says Marta Krupinska, one of the designers behind the collection.

Doesn't rock enough...more like a tiny wobble!ElizabethAlmost bought this online, then tried it in store and decided against it. The little black stops on the underside of the rockers stop the rocking motion very prematurely (and sort of abruptly and awkwardly, at least when I was rocking it with my hand). It tips backward much farther than forward, which I think might actually maks it harder to balance. Probably supposed to be a safety thing, but my kid is less than 2 years old and gets much more "swing" and smoother motion out of the plastic Little Tikes Rocking Horse at daycare. I think if the rider's seat is positioned lower to the ground/deeper in the structure of the rocker, then they can rock farther safely without worry about going over the handlebars. The seat height of this suggests it could be used by even older children, but the range of the rocking motion is so limited I think it would bore even young toddlers. Too bad because it's gorgeous and affordable!

One day when I was little, my mother came home with a big, gilded toucan. But we just had it as a decoration since it had a crack that made it unsafe. So when I had the chance to create something for the GREJSIMOJS series, a rocking bird was a given! It’s a sculptural design element when it’s not being used, yet it comes to life when a child sees it and starts rocking. It encourages play and sparks the imagination, and helps children develop their balance and motor skills.
