The first time it was used opened up as a double bed the center support rail (made of engineered soft wood) failed, broken at the finger joints and across its width. Our single guest, an adult, probably weighs about a hundred and twenty pounds. The bed is simply not strong enough to use as advertised.1

For something that is meant to slide in and out, they should be much more sturdy. Especially for the price, I found this incredibly disappointing and would return if possible.1
Major disappointment – Do not buy for daily use!HamidThis is the most disappointing item I have ever bought from IKEA. The parts on this GLAMBERGET bed do not align well at all, making the whole frame feel very loose and unstable. Because of the poor alignment, it is incredibly hard to open and close. If you plan on extending and putting this bed away every single night and morning, I highly advise against it. Save yourself the headache—I definitely do not recommend this bed.1
Assembly can improve significantlyEizaAs a consumer of Ikea, I was really disappointed during assembly. The slat holes did not align properly with the rest of the bed without hammering (yes I paid attention to the smaller vs larger width from edge to hole.)
I often felt like I had to force pieces together, whereas other Ikea pieces very smoothly fit.

I appreciate the drawers as a feature — they are quite large and good quality for the price! The bed is great, and buying with mattresses meant that I have the perfect size. Really straightforward setup, and building it you see how the mechanism works — put some carpet-friendly or hard-wood sliders on the feet and you're good to go.5
