Perfect for a toddlerElizabethWe bought this for my son several years ago. It's okay quality but when you pull the bed out, the mattresses are so thin, it was very uncomfortable. The wooden slats are not flat and flush to each other. So when the bed is closed to the twin size, the slats are raised on one side, making the mattress slant. Anyone that sleeps in the bed, feels like they will roll off. I put rolled towels along the edge to help but that's a temporary solution. Now that my son is older, we are getting rid of this but would not recommend this bed.2
Fantastic Bed!! But... KevinI love this bed, it does a great job and I love how easy it was to assemble... But... I am going warn: Those edges are hard and sharp. My little one was adjusting, hit her head square on the corner and cut her head. I have hurt myself a few times getting in and out of the bed too but I just blamed my clumsiness.
I did add some stick-on foam. Ikea, please consider rounding those edges off or include a bumper guard of some sort. 4
Fantastic Bed!! KevinBought this for our 4 year old daughter, we loved the idea that it extended which would be great when she is not having a good night and needs one of us with her or if she just wants extra space.
Assembly was easy, though, I admit I used a drill to help with assembly, just make sure to keep the torque setting down to prevent damage. I saw a lot of people complain about quality, and even with myself, my wife, and my daughter on the bed fully extended, there was no concern of quality. If you don't feel 100% comfortable assembling, I would encourage seeking support with assembly as this has a lot of pieces to it. To me, it was worth it and it is so comfortable and practical.
I was skeptical, but I know Ikea has a great return policy and support. I've never been done wrong by Ikea and been buying all my furniture there for years. 5

Great except for bogus drawer hardwareRebekkaI assembled this bed very carefully, but there is a problem with the drawer hardware. One of the drawers works fine, but the other is so difficult to open and close that, functionally, it may as well not be there. I'm afraid that trying to force it may damage the frame. The shipping box was not damaged in any way, so it seems likely that there was some manufacturing flaw in one of the hardware pieces. Having said that, I'm mostly satisfied with the purchase so far. The bed looks great. I've been sleeping on it for the past five weeks, and it feels quite sturdy. I have not tested the trundle yet. 4
Completes the guest room in functional style. JohnGreat value and a good looking daybed. Finished the guest room just as needed. 5

Slats Broke Night 1LindsayAfter spending all day building this bed for my son, he hopped on it gently and immediately broke a slat. A week later and another slat broken. Very disappointed. This is clearly a design flaw.1
Horrendous QualityVeronicaI have been purchasing IKEA goods for 20 years now and it has progressively gotten worse over the past 5 years. As of a few minutes ago, my last straw was pulled. Within hours of assembling the bed, (few months ago) the huge thick slat cracked from myself sitting down. I am not big, the next slat broke within that same week, now a few months later I sat down as normal and it broke AGAIN. This is 3 huge chunky slats that broke now. All my previous beds with ikea with the pencil thin slats have NEVER cracked let alone broke. This bed was obscenely expensive for I can’t even sleep on it anymore. Lord knows these slats might not even be available to purchase. This is my last purchase with IKEA. Genuinely so fed up with this bull.1
Drawer won't go in- Ikea has been no helpLeahWe spent 5+ hours assembling this item. The screw holes are too small in many places and it causes the screws to become stripped. One screw used in the drawer slide mechanism became stripped and could not become flush. Because it was stripped it is also impossible to remove. After 5+ hours of assembly, the drawer will not fully close. I have been trying to get a resolution from Ikea for over a week with no response. We clearly do not want to spend any more of our time disassembling this item so I have requested Ikea either send someone to disassemble it and take it away, or give us a full refund. I have no answer a week later. We need to figure this out so we can host guests. Terrible item, terrible customer service. Long-time Ikea customer no more. 1
Measure twice...MairinWe had a Hemnes day bed that served us well for years but the back was too high for use in our attic guest room so we sold it and bought the Brimnes. Howver, I didn't check the measurements and the Brimnes bed is too short for taller guests so it's back to the drawing board...4
Awesome! JoseWe got this for a guest bedroom. It is a great economical option. Great buy! Easy to assemble as well. 5
Must buy! LoriI bought this bed for my daughter along with 2 of ikeas 6” mattresses. When she opens up the bed she turns the mattresses to make it into a a queen sized bed (or is it king?). She said she has never slept so well in her life and that the thinner mattresses are far more comfortable. She couldn’t be happier with this product! 5
Practical AdrianaWe were looking for a trundle and ikea had the perfect one. Perfect for our guests since we have a den. 5
Love this!DinyGreat trundle for our guest room/ office. 5
Overall very disappointed MoorthyI bot this as part of a bedroom set 4 my kid’s room 2 years ago, hoping it would be a space-saving solution., it’s been a frustrating experience from the start. When we first bought it, screws were missing, which we only found out after relocating & getting down to assemble it. Already juggling a move betw 2 cities, we had to leave bed unfinished while traveling.
Getting missing parts was another ordeal. IKEA insisted I visit store in person, so I had to send my sister from Alph to Atl just to show the parts in question. After receiving missing screws & hiring TaskRabbit I thought we were set. Fast forward to now, my 90-pound child, lay down one day, the spine broke! She wasn’t jumping, just lying down like anyone would.
Now left with a broken bed that I don’t know how to dispose of. Found many people wt similar complaints about the product, so doesn’t seem like an isolated incident. Disappo in the cheap quality. I dont recommend this bed; it’s been a headache from start to finish.1
The style & price are great.MaryAll in one bed. For self & drawers but most of all extends for a sleepover or guest. ☺️5
We love the Brimnes daybed!JenniferBrimnes daybed is awesome! Love the drawers and love the trundle and love how it looks in the room! Very functional AND stylish! And I just purchased the Brimbes bookcase as well!5
Slats broke, cheap materials JillWow - I’ve bought HUNDREDS of ikea products and it never occurred to me to look at reviews before because it was a brand i could thoroughly trust. Wish i read reviews on this one. The screws included are super cheap and strip easily. The drawer bottoms are super flimsy. And slats broke within the first week of use. Not what i expect from ikea at all. Took HOURS to assemble (had to redo a few steps as directions weren’t the best) and is way too big to take back to the store for a “visual inspection”.2
