NOT 9 1/2” barely 6 1/2SaraThis mattress is not as website described. This is my second mattress thinking the first one may have been defective. I have the IKEA storage frame so I needed the 9 1/2” but this mattress is not thick enough for that frame. I waited more than 72 hours to lay on it thinking it would expand more. It did not. Also, it’s very firm. 1
Such a great mattress!KarenOur family loves IKEA mattresses. I think this is our fourth one; this time for our daughter's new bed. So comfortable and so easy to transport. Thank you IKEA for always having great products.5
Good mattress, deceptive promiseStephenI purchased this mattress online for delivery. On receipt of the delivery I noticed that the item had gone on sale and I checked to see if I was entitled to a refund. Yes! I had 90 days as a Family Member card holder to qualify. Over the next few days I put together the $1500 in items I had ordered and then worked for 4 days to help pay for them. I initiated my claim and waited for a response. Yes I was entitled to a refund, but only during the sale. I was 24 hours late in asking for the refund. While I now know this fine print is there, I do not believe it upholds to the quality of service I expect from IKEA. It went on sale the week it was delivered. You should honor a refund any time during the 90 day period regardless if the sale is over or not. Deceptive at best. 1
Comfortable butJohnThe mattress is basically comfortable but we discovered after the return period that we were rolling off the sides. The edges are so soft and rounded that it’s hard to not roll unless way towards the middle. It’s also hard to sit on soft edges to put on shoes etc. We have it on a platform so the base is firm. Working on ways to get around the problem.3
Well worth itSaraLove this mattress. Once it "fluffed" up from its shrink wrapping, it has been comfortable and supportive.5
Poor craftmanshipChristinaWe were looking for a hybrid mattress. This one was so uncomfortable. We could feel every spring and it was poking our back and sides. It is also a very thin mattress. We have a slat bed and it barely stick out of the side of the frame. The delivery and return process is also poor and inconvenient.1
Sinking in the centerAnkitI bought this mattress earlier this year and it has started to sag in the center within a few months of use. I sleep on my side of the bed and find myself rolled up in the center in the middle of the night. Even when I’m just lying down, I realize there is little reflex in my body that’s preventing me to roll towards the center.
I have sent pictures to Ikea Customer Care with a level that shows steep sag in the center and yet to hear back, but DO NOT BUY this mattress.
Also please check out the old reviews. I’m definitely not the only person facing these issues. Ikea MUST recall this product and refund people if they are having issues. 1
Anneland Queen Hybrid MattressTaraI love this mattress! I have a bad back, and it's supportive enough that my back feels good but not so firm that it feels uncomfortable. It's cozy and I love snuggling into bed at night. I feel like Goldilocks... not too firm, not too soft... just right!5
firm firm firm!!!RobertI wanted a firm mattress and thats what a got! the price was wonderful and it fluffed up to regular size without any problems. since I ALWAYS expect the worst I was over the moon when I had absolutely NO issues. SHOCKING!!! so far... SO GOOD! (TOO MANY EXCLAMATION POINTS!!!)5
Comfortable & Easy to moveBobThe mattress is comfortable and was easy to transport and place on bed frame.5
Love this mattressBrenLove this mattress. It works perfect with the frame. Best sleep ever.5
Terrible compared to HaugsvārNicholasI bought this mattress because Ikea no longer has the Haugsvār, hoping it'd be a proper successor.
It isn't.
If you had a Haugsvār matress, do not consider this mattress. Move on.
I've tried the firm, and the medium firm of this mattress. I wake up from both in the middle of the night in pain like I've never had before. I'm incapable of ever sleeping-in. I've tried sleeping on my side, my back, and my stomach - - and this mattress is specially designed to find every pressure point possible to ensure a restless night's sleep. Every night.
Ikea's return policy is no-good. You can only exchange the mattress for a gift-card and can only do a real return if the mattress is unused in it's original packaging.
I'm now waiting for an expensive mattress topper to see if this mattress can be salvaged.
Get a mattress from a real mattress store. They'll be able to offer you better service and returns than Ikea. This experience has turned me off from Ikea for life.1
The bestJessicaReally love this mattress! It is firm.5
Gets softer over timeCarolynOriginally I would have given this mattresses a 2. Now I rate it a 4 however that is only because the mattress has changed over time.
When I first bought the mattress it was as hard as a rock. In store it was far more comfortable. So I bought a several inch pad which helped. I bought this 14 months ago and after about 8 months I was able to take the pad off and it feels far more like what the one in the store felt like.
Not sure why this mattresses is like this. Other mattresses I have bought in the past don't soften like this over time. I am hoping that it won't eventually get too soft.
As others have said the edge sinks a bit when you sit on it, although that has not bothered me when I slept.
I am not sure I'd buy it again though simply because I had to buy a $100 pad and the comfort of this mattress has changed over time as it has been "broken in". Never had a mattress with this issue before. Now it is pretty comfortable though.4
Very comfyKimIt was easy to move and plumped up nicely. Very comfortable.5
I can sleep on itKurtTook about a week for it to expand completely. Bought firm and it’s not quite as firm as I like but it’s ok. It’s an Ikea mattress and half price from one at mattress stores4
Supportive and comfortableChristineWe had an incredibly old foam mattress for way too long, but we shopped around to try to find a new one. I like the springs and foam because there is a bit of responsiveness when you lay down along with firmness for support. I’m really happy my husband and I chose this particular one and have had no issues with it for the few months we’ve been sleeping on it. Our previous all-foam mattress (not IKEA) was very worn out, so anything was an improvement.5
Back pain in the morningsMarinaI have been using this mattress 4 months.
I bought it in April 2025.
First month I was feeling uncomfortable at mornings and I was thinking I just need to get used to it. But now it is getting worst, me and my spouse both are feeling lower back pain every morning.
I am feeling regret to loose $8001
Firm enough!Shih-TingFirm enough! Love it!5
