Do I need a receipt for returns and how are the refunds made?
The original receipt or proof of purchase is typically required for returns, and refunds will whenever possible be made back to the original method of purchase.
Your IKEA proof of purchase will clearly state the purchase method (including last 4 digits of the card used to purchase).
If you made your purchase in store and no longer have the receipt, and it was not logged under your IKEA Family account, IKEA can look up your store receipt with a few details:
- Date of purchase
- Store of purchase
- Exact amount of transaction
- Last 4 digits of the card used (card payments via a digital wallet may have different last four digits to the physical card).
Receipt information can also be found on your IKEA Family account via IKEA.com if your member number was used at the time of purchase.
If you have no proof of purchase or receipt you may still be able to receive a Refund Card (basically an IKEA gift card) based on the lowest price of the year with a max of $50.
You may also be able to sell your merchandise back to IKEA by utilizing our buy back & resell service, found here.
