We customized and furnished this tiny home to show that a tiny, sustainable lifestyle can be stylish and functional, no matter how big or small your space is. With features like water-saving shower heads and faucets, kitchen cabinets made from recycled PET bottles, an energy efficient portable induction cooktop, a built-in recycling and compost station, and solar panels on the roof, this tiny home has everything needed to help you live more sustainably.
The IKEA tiny home includes kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living spaces and is fully furnished with smart solutions for small spaces from IKEA. Some of the featured products include:

The IKEA tiny home is 187 square feet, and 8’6” wide x 10’ high.
Approximate retail value of the IKEA tiny home is $75,000.

The IKEA tiny home is equipped with a trailer hitch and weighs approximately 11,000 lbs, so you will need a vehicle with towing capabilities to move it once delivered; see official rules for details at www.ikea-usa.com/OfficialContestRules.
IKEA U.S. does not manufacture and is not currently customizing any tiny homes that are available for purchase.
The “IKEA tiny home” is the Boho XL 2020 model built by Escape Traveler and is customized by IKEA with interior design, furniture and furnishing selections.
To enter the contest, you must be an IKEA Family member. Simply follow @IKEAUSA on Instagram to find six puzzles being shared between April 30 and May 12. Solve the puzzles and follow where the clues lead to find six letters and unlock the secret password. Visit www.ikea-usa.com/tinyhome from May 12-14 to enter the password, your IKEA Family member number and submit a tiny essay of no more than 2500 characters answering the question, “How would this wonderful tiny home allow you to live a more sustainable life, and why is a sustainable lifestyle important to you?”

As a member, you’ll have access to discounted prices on selected IKEA products as well as inspirational workshops, and even a free hot drink every time you visit.
We love this tiny home, and we want it to go to a new owner who will appreciate and care for it. So we’re sharing our passion for a tiny, sustainable lifestyle through this contest to make sure whoever wins shares our passion. Plus, scavenger hunts are just plain fun!
Your essay:
- MUST be in the English language and must be no more than 2500 characters in length;
- MUST be truthful and be the entrant's original idea (modification of an original work is not an original idea);
- MUST NOT contain material which is (or promote activities which are) dangerous, harmful, sexually explicit, obscene, pornographic, self-mutilating, discriminatory (based on race, sex, religion, natural origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or age), illegal (e.g. underage drinking, substance abuse, computer hacking, etc.), offensive, threatening, profane, or harassing;
- MUST NOT include any private information of a third party such as name, address, phone number or email address;
- MUST NOT disparage the Sponsor, its products or services, or any other person or party affiliated with the promotion and administration of the Contest;
- MUST NOT include mention or performance of any copyrighted media production, including, but not limited to, music, films, books, television programming, etc., or identifying descriptions of any media property, except to the extent that such use constitutes a clear fair use or the copyright owner has expressly consented to such use;
- MUST NOT contain material that violates or infringes another's rights, including, but not limited to, material that violates privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement. Entries must not include third-party trademarks, logos, insignia, location signage, photographs, artwork, sculptures or music; and
- MUST NOT include any third parties

You might not have the right password — you can find the correct password by solving the puzzles and following the clues. The correct password should have 6 letters and each of those letters were released in sequential order.
Essay submissions will be judged based on the following criteria:
(a) Submission clearly articulates how the entrant’s life can be more sustainable (35%);
(b) Submission is inspirational (35%);
(c) Submission articulates a unique story (20%); and
(d) Spelling, grammar, punctuation and overall organization (10%)
