BillyClarenceSolid wood material with smooth & clean finish although the top is flimsier than might be expected if not securing to the wall using the attachment brackets provided. Alternatively wedge between other fixtures/furniture (e. g. wall/study desk) to keep it secure.
Installation was not as easy as expected with the self-tapping screws, but otherwise instructions were easy to follow.
