The rims on the top and bottom of the cover is very visible and when the lamp is lit they are even more visible. The plastic parts are very low quality. I am surprised Ikea approved such a design.1

Attractive medium sized lampshade and base - easy assembly, simple design. I bought the mid brightness light bulb from ikea for this lamp and it emits a warm glow - good enough for reading and soft enough for nice ambience. Happy I bought two.
