How does the Interior Design Service work for my home or business?
IKEA offers professional interior design services for both private and business customers available online.
This is how the service works:
- Before booking. To ensure you get the most out of your appointment, take some time to prepare. Think about the style, colours and materials you like and explore our Room Ideas for inspiration. It's also helpful to take pictures of your space and measure the key dimensions of the area you need advice on.
- Schedule your meeting. Select an available date and time on our online calendar. Provide your details and confirm the payment to book your session. It can be online, in-store, at home or in the office — whichever you prefer. We'll send you a confirmation email with the name of your interior designer and everything you need to know.
- Reschedule or cancel (if necessary). If your plans change, you can reschedule or cancel your session. To cancel, please use the link in your confirmation email. Please advise as far in advance as possible to avoid additional fees.
- Prepare for your session with a quiz. After booking, you will receive a link to a questionnaire in your confirmation email. Fill it out in as much detail as possible to help the designer prepare for the session. Before the meeting, gather the dimensions of the room, photos, and inspirational images you want to discuss. You can share it with the designer during the session or send it in advance by email to design.interiores@ikea.com.
- Meet with your designer. During the meeting, you will have a one-on-one conversation with your interior designer. This is the time to discuss your design dilemmas, share ideas and get expert advice on topics such as:
- Selection of furniture and products
- Color schemes and materials
- Interior styling, textiles and accessories
- Storage and organization
- Lighting and Home Smart Solutions
- Creating a more sustainable home
- Receive your decoration plan and place the order. After your meeting, your designer will share the following details with you:
- Product collage: A visual collection of recommended furniture and accessories that match your style and colour palette, helping you see how the products work together.
- Detailed shopping list: A complete list of all the recommended IKEA products, making it easy for you to purchase them online or in-store and a detailed shopping list containing all the recommended IKEA items.
