At the glassworks, the glassblower gathers molten glass on a pipe and carefully shapes the glass. "In a transparent vase, the beauty in the flowers, the stems and the water’s playful surface becomes a given part of the expression. When designing TIDVATTEN vase and bowl, I wanted to create a toned down, almost anonymous shape where attention to individual detail still gives the product a distinct quality. The bottom’s small bulge is magnified and reflected when water is poured in and it acts like a lens, the vase's eye. A sign from the past that also drives tradition forward."
