Product details

When seasoned properly, the carbon steel pan develops a dark non-stick surface, making it great for cooking tasty food without sticking. And it only gets better the more the pan is used.

Works well on all types of hobs, including induction hob.

Made from carbon steel, which spreads heat evenly, keeps the pan warm for a long time, and gives food an even browning.

Can also be used in the oven since it is made entirely of metal.

Two handles make it easy to lift the pan.

The design of the handles reduces heat transfer.

The dark-grey sloping handle provides good balance when lifting and moving the frying pan.

You can use all types of utensils, including metal utensils.

15 year guarantee. Read about the terms in the guarantee brochure.

Will outlast my non stickAnonymous reviewerBrilliant pan is seasoned well I did mine several times like the instructions and made a slight mistake but now have a great pan with natural non stick properties. Heat it up before you add anything and it works a treat steaks and bacon cook perfectly with plenty of flavour. Some reviews say it’s no good but if you season it correctly you will get years of cooking out of it. Will outlive a dozen or so non stick pans so better for your pocket and the environment.5
Good quality and excellent valueAnonymous reviewerVery well build pan, feels very similar to market leader de Buyer, but significantly cheaper. Ignore all the poor reviews, they have no clue what they're doing. This isn't a teflon coated pan and requires a little effort and learning, but will literally last your whole life if you take care of it; unlike 'non-stick' pans which loose their non-stick properties in a few months, and are in the bin within a year. There's plenty of videos online on how to season this (very minimal vegetable oil, nothing fancy, just try to "rub off all the oil"), as well as trips on how to use it. E.g. chicken breast will stick at first, but once that side is cooked it will release from the surface nicely. If anyone was looking to replace their rubbish teflon pans with carbon steel, I would recommend this one, as I don't think you get significantly better pans for 2 or 3 times the price of this. Only other thing is 32cm diameter is a little large for most hobs, so the smaller sizes are best for most.5
Learn how to correctly use carbon steel cookware and you'll be very happy!Anonymous reviewerThis pan is excellent. Easily as good as my De Buyer which cost almost twice the price. Just make sure you season it correctly before first use, make sure the pan is hot before frying anything, and never, ever, dishwash and you should be good. I would recommend anyone who is new to carbon steel cookware to do some reading around how to use it before first use.5
Excellent panAnonymous reviewerAs mentioned by others, this pan needs a little care. When you first buy it give it a hot soapy wash and rinse. Immediately dry it and coat it liberally with sunflower oil or similar. Give it a high heat to smoking point. You should see a colour change as the oil sticks to the metal. If needed, add a little more oil and move the pan around on the heat. The more you use it the better it will get. Wash with just hot water and a metal scourer so no food residue is left. Give it another oily wipe before you put it away. This pan has good thickness and will should last a long time. 5
Put in the effort and it is excellent.Anonymous reviewerIt's not a straight out of the packet non-stick pan. It needs preparation and maintenance, and then it works great. Don't get it if you don't have the time or interest to use it properly and then complain about it. Do get it if you want something between stainless steel pans and cast iron pans, and want to avoid PFAS and plastic in your family's bodies.5
Those who left bad reviews do not know how to use itAnonymous reviewerThis pan is GOOD but you need to know how to use it, clean it and store it but it pays off with no PFAS in your food. It is non-stick if you know how to use, it does not rust if you keep it dry. It does stain a bit but it is a surface stain and comes off with abrasive or when cooking something acidic. We have been exclusively using it for over a year.5
Not recommendedAnonymous reviewernot only its sticky while you will see brown stuff seems the coat is so easy to fall off1
So bad productAnonymous reviewerOnly 2 weeks using It and It IS oxydatedb. Super poor quality1
Great pan that will last a lifetimeAnonymous reviewerPeople are buying this pan expecting it to act like Teflon. That's not how it works. It's a fantastic pan. Season it properly, wait for the pan to be properly hot before putting food in, and wait for a crust to form before touching it. Don't cook acidic foods or sauces in it and you'll be golden.5
Instant rustAnonymous reviewerRusted after first use. Would not recommend.1
Great frypan!Anonymous reviewerGreat frypan, a bit of the heavy side but once you've seasoned it, it's amazing!5
Awful panAnonymous reviewerI followed the seasoning instructions to the letter and the pan still came out blotchy. Food got stuck when using it and was hard to wash off, had to scrub it so hard the seasoned layer came off. Extremely disappointing - wouldn't recommend buying.1
Disappointed CampAnonymous reviewerYes, I'm in the disappointed camp. Bought this because already had two small carbon steel pans from IKEA (13cm & 20cm), which came already black and were really easy to season. Those pans have been absolutely brilliant and I wanted a bigger one but clearly this is not already black, and does not season no matter how hard ones tries, and does go rusty on a regular basis. I can't see what the product name was on the back of the good pans, but clearly they have been discontinued which is such a shame.1
Rusty after first washAnonymous reviewerUsed the pan for the first time with no issues, washed the pan and it’s gone rusty so can’t use again. Such a waste as it wasn’t a cheap pan at all. 1
It is fake productAnonymous reviewerI recently got this and when washed and kept it turns all rusty .1
Feels like this pan will lastAnonymous reviewerAfter using for a couple of weeks now we are really happy with this pan which has developed a lovely non stick finish, cleans really easily and feels solid without being too heavy.5
DisappointedAnonymous reviewerBought this frying pan loved the weight and what it thought was good quality. Washed the pan, seasoned the pan... cooking with it was great nothing stuck to it by the third time in using it in a week, I placed already cooked onions and garlic to sit whilst cooking something else in another pot. When ready to transfer there were dark patches like a stain on the pan and the smell of metal. I rewashed the pan the stain slightly disappeared so I went back to researching the pan. Again cooked well but now the pan looks like it has been left out in the rain for days. Im not impressed as I have two other pots that work well. If it wasn't for the decolouration this pan would have been perfect. Maybe this was a bad patch.1
Fabulous pan!Anonymous reviewerI have this and the 32cm pan. They work beautifully if looked after properly. They have a shiny black patina now and I can cook a fried egg or pancakes without any sticking. I cook in the pan, I scrape it, then give a quick scrub with a brush under cold water, then dry out on top of the stove. Works beautifully. 5
brilliant panAnonymous reviewerabsolutely fantastic pan - my main go to frying pan with great non stick and not too heavy. Really wish Ikea still made these as would get the 24cm pan also5
Half the price of the big brandsAnonymous reviewerVery pleased with it, far better than the previous generation one. Very thick so holds heat well and slick, smooth finish which takes the initial seasoning well. It does require maintenance however, as with any bare carbon steel or cast iron to prevent rust, but I'm sure it will last years and years of well looked after. Shame it's out of stock everywhere now as I am in the market for a smaller carbon steel pan and would happily buy again! 5
