Better than anticipatedAnonymous reviewerI was concerned when ordering online this wouldn’t be that comfortable, but was the only option for the kritter bed. I didn’t need to be concerned, it is firm enough to be appropriately safe for a younger child, but isn’t too hard, thin or uncomfortable. She sleeps through the night and even when I (carefully!) sit on the edge of her bed for bedtime story I don’t feel the slats through the mattress. 5

It's not very thick orAnonymous reviewerIt's not very thick or dense. That said, we knew the size/depth before buying but because it is for an Ikea bed we had no other option because of the bed size.
The mattress looks nice but on the bed, it is fairly thin. My child is quite small so she doesn't dip and misshape the mattress like an adult would. She sleeps well in it and has no complaints.
From the packaging it is very smelly at first, then the smell does fade after about a week.3

Good mattress, annoying coverAnonymous reviewerI bought two Underlig mattresses for my kids over a year ago. They are good, affordable mattresses and my children find them comfortable, they both sleep on the smooth side. The removable covers are very useful and wash well. However, every time I wash them I spend 10 minutes trying to find a paper clip of the right size or a safety pin to open the safety zipper. It's really annoying. Perhaps other parents will disagree but I fail to see what the problem is, we use a fitted sheet over the mattress and the kids have never tried to reach the inside of the mattress in any case. There are zippers in every day objects around the house, clothing, pram cover, pencil cases... I've never seen them as a safety issue. A solution to a problem that doesn't exist?3
