This b,ind has a lot to recommend, but... the spring anchor has a nasty habit of breaking, which is a noisy event, I can tell you! Granted it has a hard job, especially on the model I chose, which has to cope with the full height window. There is talk online of a product recall si Ikea are obviously aware of the issue. At the price, I would have expected longer life, but the first one broke (at 3am), after 5 years and the second went at a more sociable 4pm, after six years.
I have just bought another and will be adding my own reinforcement to the small plastic hook that's at the heart of the problem. Great product, Ikea - just a shame you can't solve that design flaw.4

Effective and good when they work! Anonymous reviewerI have in my small flat. I have one in bedroom, and 3 in living room, as well as one in the bathroom.
Initially experienced issues and had to get replacement blinds sent out as the mechanism sort of failed. When they work I like them they keep light out, child safe and look alright! 👍🏻 the customer service I received was good in that they resolved any issue. Plastic fittings a bit basic but does the job. 4

It’s not 100% blackout but I would describe it as 75% which is pretty good and it’s very private. That’s what I like and it’s plain and give your house a European continental feel

And if you can follow the instructions, it’s easy to fit4

Perfect and easyAnonymous reviewerPerfect for blocking most light, easy to use, light weight and simple to fit. Got them all over our home, as they stow away discretely when up and allow plenty of light in without the hassle of curtain rails and curtains blocking light at sides. Have to find the best size for the windows but can have overlap as can fit inside or out side of the window. Perfect 👍5

Mechanism keeps breakingAnonymous reviewerWhilst they are easy to fit and loom nice they are far too fragile. Even for a spare room. The blind doesn’t stay down when fully open and the mechanism which lifts the blind has broken in two out of three of the blinds purchased. I want to return these under guarantee but you can only return in store and we don’t live close to a store :( 1

Good in theory, lacking in practice. Anonymous reviewerThis blind does effectively cut out light. And the mechanism is designed to be very straightforward to use - simply pull down or push up. However the mechanism itself is unreliable. Having bought four we've had to get replacements for two of them. The four that we now have are already not working as smoothly as when we first bought them - only a few months ago. These are quite expensive and would be worth it if the mechanism was more durable and reliable but as it is I can't recommend this product. 2

AVOID!Anonymous reviewerPlastic clips o brackets fail as does the plastic spring retainer in the track at the top. Under engineered with cheap plastic and poor springs in the places that count.1
