Useful extensionAnonymous reviewerPurchased this item because I wanted to put a light switch by the back door so that when I came through the rear of my house, I was able to put the light on without having to walk through the dark to then find the light switch. This item is ideal for what I needed. Plugged it into a lamp and put the switch by the rear door, simple and easy to install.
Great idea but why can't you buy just the plugs?! Anonymous reviewerI have lots of remotes and the digera hub as part of a smart home set up. You used to be able to buy these with just the plugs but now the only option is part of a set. So if i need ten plus then that means 10 remotes destined for landfill. Not very sustainable!
Works exactly as expectedAnonymous reviewerThe Tretakt works very well. It works on its own with just the switch without a hub, but I am using it with the IKEA App and the Dirigera hub to enable integration with Apple HomeKit and other IKEA SmartHome products. It was easy to set up with the IKEA app and then the Tretakt appeared in Apple Home. When the smart plug is added to the IKEA App, you have to add the remote to the app separately and then get the remote to control the Tretakt again, but that extra step is a minor inconvenience.

The device is compact and includes a manual override button, which is essential for us.

It can be paired with Dirigera hub, SmartThings hub, Homey Pro and Philips Hue Bridge, but note that the remote control cannot then be paired directly with the smartplug and must instead be paired with the hub (not compatible with the Hue Bridge).

Worked about 90% of the timeAnonymous reviewerThe remote would work about 90% of the time. This was for the on and off button. For this to be a useful product, it needs to communicate 100% of the time.
Outstanding and Compatible with HubitatAnonymous reviewerAt this price, how do idea do it. A button and outlet for a tenner which is 100% reliable on Hubitat. I can't recommend this highly enough. It makes me wonder why the inferior Tradfri outlet which doesn't have an on/off button and comes without an external button is still £10.
Great zigbee devicesAnonymous reviewerWorks very well as a standalone unit and the included magnetic/adhesive attachments for the remote are great.
I've been using these devices with home assistant (ZHA) - with that setup you can easily unpair the socket and remote to use for other purposes (and assign anything to the remote buttons) which makes it great value for essentially two zigbee devices! - the remotes currently control Ikea smart bulbs using preset scenes. I can't comment on the Ikea smart home hub/software usage as don't have it.
I now have three of these and they are my go-to option for more smart sockets.
The only feature I'd like to add would be energy usage tracking through the plug, but at this price, I'm more than happy with the product.

Badly flawed design.Anonymous reviewerI got 2 of these as they're the new, apparently smaller (we'll get to this) smart plug that now comes with a push button for ease of use if you don't have your phone/tablet near. However, it has a critical design flaw: 2 of them cannot be plugged in side by side on any power extension. Yup, you read that right: you cannot plug 2 of these side by side unless it's directly in to the mains outlet. This is a very bad problem in 2024 when most people use 4+ gang adapters. The ironic part? The previous TRÅDFRI smart plugs CAN be plugged in side by side because they're not as wide. Yup, the old ones are better. Sadly I can't add a picture to this review, but I have photos of Tretakt and Tradfari illustrating the problem. It's astonishing that no one in IKEA's design team tried plugging two of these in side by side in a gang adaptor. So, 1/5, terrible design, get the older ones instead. Also the Rodret remote is not as good as Somrig because you can't assign separate functions to the buttons.
