Easy to set upAnonymous reviewerEasy setup but I can only give 4 stars at present because I need to see if it is still working in a years time. I previously had Meross ones and ,whilst very good value, they have, one by one, failed in just over a year. Luckily I had spares but after the last one broke I decided to try Ikea as I have had no issues with their lightbulbs over many years. If this turns out to be as good then a definite 5 stars.4
it _is_ compatible with the original hubAnonymous reviewerThanks to another review here, I had the confidence to buy one of these without one of the matching remote controls (to replace an old TRÅDFRI socket outlet that had failed). It was very simple to pair it to an old TRÅDFRI "wireless dimmer" (the little square one with the CR2032 battery). This dimmer serves as a switch for a group of four socket outlets (table lamps in our lounge), and sure enough our old original IKEA hub now controls it via the HomeSmart app., it being automatically added to the group of four sockets controlled by the same switch. That's a great result as far as I'm concerned, I'll be back for more.5
Quite good but only 3 stars due to some design issues.Anonymous reviewerThis plug is basic & straight forward. It’s easy to pair with a remote control (RC) without needing a hub and they work well. Doors, walls & floors don’t hinder use & the plug remembers if it was on or off if there’s a power failure. CONS: 1) You can pair multiple plugs to one RC but each plug only allows one RC to be directly paired with it (I believe the same applies if a motion sensor is the controller); being able to control a plug with multiple RCs around the house would be good. If a hub enables this (no info online to say it can) it’s a lot to pay for basic operation; I’m using plugs which are over 15 years old & can pair 6 RCs per plug & there’s no hub. 2) The pairing / power light & reset button are VERY small & VERY difficult to see (no image in the instructions identifying the reset button). 3) The plug is too wide. Multiples can fit side by side in a double wall socket but not an extension cable strip. There’s room for improvement without hiking a decent price.4

Simple smart on/off compatible with Philips HueAnonymous reviewerTook a bit of a risk after seeing people say that other Ikea smart plugs work in the Philips Hue ecosystem (the Bridge is required).
If you need a simple smart on/off switch, this works absolutely perfectly, at a fraction of the price of an official Philips one. Just press & hold the small button on the plug to start pairing, search for devices on the Hue app, and it should show up as an on/off plug.
I've got a lamp plugged into it, which can be controlled from my Logitech Harmony Elite remote, as well as a Philips Smart Button at the same time. Both work absolutely perfectly. 5
