A nightmare to set up for music streamingAnonymous reviewerInitial setup went well , connected to my Ray soundbar as surround speakers within minutes and worked flawlessly with my tv , firestick , dvd player etc.
When trying to play iphone music the frustrations started.
After 4 times or more factory resetting all the speakers ,or disabling wifi , or changing wifi channels as per internet advice, the intermittent playing and cut outs continued. I bought a netgear wifi extender and since connecting my iphone , the ray and speakers to ext2 it seems to have resolved the issues. Music is streaming to all the speakers and after a week I still haven’t had any cutouts , no matter where in the house i have my iphone as long as connected to wifi. Maybe now they are on their own dedicated signal this is the solution and maybe of help to anyone having similar issues. 4
Fantastic little speakerAnonymous reviewerWe already own a first Gen Symfonisk & wanted another so we could have stereo sound. Was a bit hesitant to buy a second Gen as wasn’t sure how well it would interface with our original speaker. I needn’t had worried. Set up was a breeze & now we have stereo sound which is amazing considering the size of the speakers! High recommend 5
Terrible buyAnonymous reviewerWe have had this product since its promotion many years ago and it still doesn’t work. Due to the lock down and being outside of the country we missed our opportunity to return it.1
Great sound Anonymous reviewerEasyjet to set up5
Great, budget alternative to SonosAnonymous reviewerI'm really puzzled by the handful of negative comments regarding these speakers, I've found them a great alternative (and addition) to my Sonos kit.
Install is a breeze, I have a stereo pair in the study and two set as surrounds with a Sonos Beam.
Sound quality is decent and reliability has been great. Yea, the Sonos app occasionally bugs, buts it's a rarity to be honest and a quick restart resumes normal use.
The Symphonisk are larger than the Sonos One, but I believe this works in their favour and helps produce a better, more bass rich performance.
You can disable to front facing LED if it bothers you, the volume functions over both speakers when paired.
Great alternative for your existing Sonos kit, I'll be after another pair soon.5
Great when it worked, which was sporadicallyAnonymous reviewerVery glitchy Sonos app. Frequently had to reinstall. More often than not it failed to connect. 2
Given ongoing problems with Sonos app, this product cannot be recommendedAnonymous reviewerGreat speakers -- but unfortunately given the catastrophe involving Sonos, and the absolute reliance of these speakers on the Sonos App, they are essentially a defective product. 1

Simple, Stylish, Sound Anonymous reviewerThis very bold Symfonisk (Sonos btw) speaker is powerful, great value for money and might actually be the cheapest way to have a sonos sound set up in your home. It seamlessly integrates and pairs up with your other Sonos sound collection as well as other Symfonisk products. It is easy to set up, run music services and radio from the Sonos app, the design clearly is simple but quality and has depth with crisp clean clear sound and powerful base. Interestingly also has a beautiful way it immerses itself into your home like it’s always meant to be there and you see this by either standing it vertically, placing it horizontally or hanging it with its hooks by a corner, the quality of the sound is worth the spend.5
Awesome for the money, despite the ropey Sonos app.sAnonymous reviewerI adore this speaker. When paired with Home Assistant, instead of the horrible new Sonos app, it's features are opened wide.
I'm able to set schedules, custom remotes, etc. And all for a fraction of the cost of the rest of the Sonos ecosystem.
It looks and sounds great.5
SONOS Anonymous reviewerIf you know about SONOS products but are put off by the price, these are for you. A well priced alternative for true wireless (except power) that will make your hi-fi system available anywhere in your home. You will need the SONOS app to control it fully and the sound quality is excellent. I don’t regret this purchase in the slightest. 5
Great addition to my systemAnonymous reviewerI already have two of these speakers as surround pair in my lounge but wanted another for my dining room. Great quality at very competitive price - makes developing a SONOS system much more affordable without loss of quality.5
Brilliant speakers - Read this to fix the 'speakers not appearing' issueAnonymous reviewerExcellent sounding speakers, at a much better price than Sonos own brand products.
I did have some trouble at first with the speakers not always appearing as other reviewers have mentioned. After a lot of trial and error I figured out that they need to be connected to a 2.4ghz wifi network, NOT the standard 5ghz. I had to go into my router settings to make them show up as two separate networks. Then connect your phone/computer to the 2.4ghz network and set your speaker up whilst connected to the 2.4ghz network. You can then switch back to your 5ghz network on your device and they work flawlessly. Happy listening!5
Used to be a recommended alternative/addition to SonosAnonymous reviewerThese Symfonisk speakers are - or at least were - great bookshelf speakers whether by themselves or as a cost-effective way to introduce surround channels to a Sonos home theatre setup. Them being part of the Sonos ecosystem used to be a positive feature but ever since Sonos ruined their app a few months ago this has turned into a drawback as, in the worst case scenario, you might find you can't see/use/control the speakers at all. Until May 2024 I would've heartily recommended these but not now - I'd instead suggest staying clear. Ikea really need to be having words with Sonos if they haven't been doing so already.2
Great Sonos speakerAnonymous reviewerBought a pair of these speakers to compliment my Sonos beam gen2 and sub. Easy to link via the Sonos app and provides left and right surround sound. Great value for money.5
Great Sound dodgy connectivityAnonymous reviewerIf you loved Sonos, you will love these, and their price is incredibly low! Their sound is rich and deep, makes an Alexa speaker sound like a tin can. I love how easy it is for multiple people to jump in and play their favourite track on Sonos. Alexa is very much geared to one persons account which makes having a sound system accessible to everyone in the household way more difficult, this device alleviates that by giving everyone access to play their favourite tunes. The only struggle comes with connectivity. The communication between these and a wifi router is a little rough, it will drop out frequently, so using an Ethernet cable is key to a happy connection. If you use more than one to create a house wide sound system, wifi connections are possible. Once you have one “hard wired” to your router, the rest of them communicate flawlessly with the hard wired unit. Set up was initially frustrating, mainly due to wifi communication trouble shooting, but adding extra units was easy.4
A nightmare to setupAnonymous reviewerThe new sonos app made it very very very hard to set this up, very. For anyone else who is struggling and getting the 'update' error, you can try this.
Unplug/turn-off power to the speaker. Connect the speakers into router with Ethernet cable. Hold the play/pause button. Power the speakers on. Go through the sonos phone app to setup. When it fails to update - stop. Go to your computer/laptop, download the sonos app, and update the speakers through there (phone apps couldnt do it, had to use PC/Laptop, I used windows). Once that is done. Go back to the app and continue. This method worked for 2 of my speakers. Then come back here and give this product 1 star. It is scary how easily this product becomes a paperweight without the sonos app.1
A nightmareAnonymous reviewerStylish though it is, the latest app update from sonos (which has to be used to set up the speaker) simply doesn't work, my speaker will no longer connect to the WiFi. Also be aware that this is not a bluetooth speaker, it only streams via WiFi, this means only through apps like Spotify/Bandcamp etc. If you have mp3s etc on your android music app (VLC etc) you can't play them directly to the speaker unless you update them to the desktop sonos app on a laptop or PC and then have the PC turned on for the music to play, and most of the time this method doesn't work anyway. Sound is great but connecting it is a nightmare, I can't count the hours I've lost doing factory resets etc. Don't buy this, you'll regret it.1
For those struggling to connect their Sonos to their networkAnonymous reviewerAfter 5 hours of struggling to connect my Sonos to their new app and pair up with these Symfonisks…I’ve figured it out and had to factory reset all my speakers with my 10+ years' of info and my old music library. Factory reset all devices is the way to go, and pair up using their wifi sync button, then you’re good to go. Connecting these speakers to the network used to be so simple (plug it into the Ethernet cable), but now you’ve got to repair everything and start afresh! 3
Brilliant speaker added to my existing sonosAnonymous reviewerI was upgrading a few sonos products and tried this in store and was as equally impressed as I am with 'proper' sonos kit.
Think the shop speakers are limited in volume whereas these are not.
Very pleased replacing a play5. 5
