Great cat toyAnonymous reviewerThis was bought to brighten up the hallway but has inadvertently become the cat's favourite toy. He sleeps on it, he scratches his claws on it (zero interest in scratching the sofa when this is about!), he plays with the tassels, he does mad acrobatics on it, he uses it as a zoomies surfboard. 30 cat toys in this house and all of them pale to this rug.5
Raklev rugAnonymous reviewerExcellent may for side of bed or lounge. Easy to clean just shake it outside and damp cloth for stains. I have had a few of these mats and they are very hardwearing and affordable .5
Hard-wearing Rug :))Anonymous reviewerExcellent quality, colours… bought 5 … ideal for sea-side homes. IKEA at its best :))5
Natural and easy to cleanAnonymous reviewerNatural material is a huge plus. It seems sturdy, Llooks nice and compose well both with contemporary and more traditional interior. Adds texture. We use it in our lounge in front of our patio doors to prevent debris getting inside on our shoes or cat paws. Worked well. The cats really like lounging on it. It's easy to clean. And the price is really good.5
ExcellentAnonymous reviewerIntended as Christmas pressie for my cat: to divert his attention, amd claws (!), away from furniture. And it does the trick! :-) 5
Excellent runnerAnonymous reviewerExcellent runner, really good value. Looks good on the floor and the little coloured stripes add a nice touch.5

Raklev RunnerAnonymous reviewerI purchased this to sit under the dining table which is located in the bay window. Unfortunately, there's damage to the laminate flooring there and this rug is perfect for covering it. Nicely priced too.5
Great runner/rugAnonymous reviewerI put two of these together to make a rug for under a kitchen island. They look great! I pulled both tassels out in between the runners and it looks good (runners together to make a rug with both tassles showing)5
Good rugAnonymous reviewerUseful size, good appearance, lovely colours, seems pretty tough.5

Love itAnonymous reviewerI saw this at a friends house and only recently we.moved house and i purchased one! Im so happy i found this rug5
Great Rug - great priceAnonymous reviewerI saw the Raklew rug on line and colour matched to a chair I have - I wanted to create a reading nook - it is just right - it is not particularly soft to the touch but then its not going to be sat on, so that didn't influence my decision. What did though is the base colour, the colours of the wool strands woven in and the size and price - very pleased with my purchase overall.5
Excellent rug but colors more mutedAnonymous reviewerThis rug is perfect on our wood block floor in our hall, it lies flat . The woven inserts are not primary colors but more subtle and muted, for instance the red is more brick than primary.which in my opinion makes it even better5
Honey colour runner.Anonymous reviewerGood quality hand made appearance, Cheerful and cheap.5
Great hard wearing rugAnonymous reviewerBought this rug to compliment two others previously purchased. Impressed by the hard wear of the product5

What is jute?

Jute is a very hardwearing fibre that is found in the stem of the jute plant. It’s an easy-to-grow plant that requires very little fertiliser, pesticides or water and is ready to harvest after only 120 days. The jute fibre is often used for ropes and sacks but is also known for its silky-smooth lustre and can be spun into finer threads which are then woven. In our range we often use woven jute for items like curtains, rugs and furniture.

Form design process

Made using the hand loom weaving technique

In a hand loom, horizontal strands (the weft), are woven over and under vertical strands (the warp), repeatedly until the rug is complete. Depending on the complexity of the design, producing a rug with this technique can take from a few days up to several weeks. Unlike other techniques, such as hand-tufting, a hand loom does not produce a pile, rather it creates an even and flat surface. This technique allows for intricate designs and patterns and the rugs tend to be lightweight yet durable. They are also reversible and easy to clean, making them a practical and popular choice.
