I like itVerified ReviewerBought almost 1 year ago. Looks nice. Great quality. Amazing price for these items. Definitely recommend!5
Poor quality & disappointing Verified ReviewerIt’s well packaged but the material is chipboard not the same density as few years ago , they have used much less material !? It has broken corners and few cracks?! Unfortunately the carpenter had no time to wait and we didn’t return it but we definitely can not recommend it !!!!1
Great productVerified ReviewerGreat product from IKEA easy to put together reasonable price5
I expect something more stableVerified ReviewerI expect something more stable and better quality3

excellentVerified Revieweri have bought pax for years so not sure why so many bad reviews. i’ve probably built over 25 pax wardrobes of various sizes over the years for myself and family/friends. not including dismantling and rebuilding because of moving etc. never once had a problem. if these are built and fitted correctly there shouldn’t be an issue. i am a 5ft 2” woman over 40 with some diy experience, i can build these on my own, i build these upright as ceilings tend to be too low to lift it up once built.(as shown in instructions) i would suggest if you don’t have experience or you are not confident about building them get a professional, people seem to be blaming the quality rather than there diy skills. they are heavy and if moved incorrectly they will split and break. they will not break if they are moved/fitted correctly. had a set of these for at least 20 years, still in great condition, they had hinged doors, changed to sliding doors a few years ago, new lease of life. price increase a downside. 5
Pax Space Saving RangeVerified ReviewerI recently bought this product and love it!! Have given me a lot more space and the possible internal combinations are endless!! Bespoke at its best as you can decide what you need internally as last Minute as you like. It is possible to build these solo but a second pair of hands is useful and they do need to be fitted to the walls for total security.5
Excellent WardrobesVerified ReviewerGreat Wardrobes, plenty of hanging space5
Excellent flexibilityVerified ReviewerExcellent flexibility5
ExcellentVerified ReviewerIteam was perfect condition Instructions could have text making ease for people to read and follow5
HorrendousVerified ReviewerThe wardrobe back at this height needs reinforcement, the doors wobble at this height too. Terrible wardrobe don't waste your money if you are going to get it, get it at a lower height. 1
Hard to put up!Verified ReviewerOur new home has lower ceilings than our last one, so putting the talk Pax wardrobe together was a bit tricky - we had to assemble it upright! I don’t think I’ll ever try to do this again - my OH has to balance the top of the wardrobe on his head whilst to step ladders, so that I could screw out into place. I’m so glad they were insured with the family card!5
Poor Quality Verified ReviewerCheap chipboard panels and thin hardboard for cupboard back. A lot of flex in this tall unit which makes it difficult for one person to assemble and raise safely without the poor quality screws and dowels ripping out the chipboard and rendering it useless. Buy something better quality and with more substantial materials/screws.1
Nice idea but cheap junk materials, flawed designVerified ReviewerBe careful with the leveling feet fitted to the base with this current design. I initially mentally congratulated IKEA for the feature after satisfyingly leveling the (empty) frames with the screw adjustment, however I later noticed that two of the bases had split where the weight was being supported by the tee nuts. Now have to disassemble and hire a van to return, costing more than if I had purchased quality wardrobes from elsewhere in the first place. Would recommend either: a) buying something better; b) not installing the leveling feet and instead using standard wedges.2

Poor service.Verified ReviewerI bought a customised PAX wardrobe for my room- unfortunately, parts of it came damaged and dented. I have photos of them too. Since my order was large I didn't bother to return anything, as I didn't have the time. I also noticed that items were missing from my delivery. I called IKEA, 4 times, over the span of 3 weeks, to wait for these parts. I spoke to Rosana, parts didn't arrive. I was promised a 10% refund, that didn't happen either. I called again and spoke with Richard, who promised a £20 voucher for inconvenience - no voucher, and no parts arrived. Then I spoke with Lucy, who said it was out of stock previous times. Nothing arrived again. The 4th time I called I spoke to Mim, and raised my frustration at IKEA's 3 consecutive failures. Mim then said 'sorry we don't guarantee delivery in our policy' - ? I asked her for the reference number of the conversation, and she didn't have one to give me. Appalling service, poor quality goods, will never shop at IKEA again.2
Not greatVerified ReviewerThe main shelf had a chip in it. The packaging is massively frustrating to open. I paid for delivery so can't take it back.2
Excellent value. Very easy toVerified ReviewerExcellent value. Very easy to put together. Great quality.5

Because one size doesn't fit all

Have a little look around — not too obviously, just a peek. Chances are, even if it's just different coloured socks or another colour of scarf, there's no one dressing exactly the same as you right now.

Which is why it stands to reason that our clothes storage shouldn't be exactly the same either. It's this idea that led us to develop the PAX/KOMPLEMENT clothes and shoes storage. Designed so that no matter your passion, fashion or personality, your clothes and accessories will have a practical home.

The evolution of storage

It just takes a flick through a photo album to see that some of the clothes we used to love might make us wonder 'what was I thinking?' today. And as the way we dress has changed over the years, so too has our approach to making storage at IKEA. That's why we've designed PAX/KOMPLEMENT clothes and shoes storage to adapt to how you would like to store your things, rather than trying to fit your clothes and accessories into an unsuitable space. An idea that's shaped its whole development.

The only similarity is difference

“Most people dream of having an organised wardrobe where they can see all their clothes and accessories. But that's where the similarities end", says Betina Tviis Larsson who developed the PAX/KOMPLEMENT system. Traditional storage often shoehorns you into doing things a set way, whether its folding t-shirts or sorting out a sock drawer – something Betina wanted PAX/KOMPLEMENT to step away from. "We didn't want to say there's a right way or wrong way to keep your clothes. If you want to hang your jeans by their belt loops we want you to be able to do it”, Betina says.

Multiple personality order

To get the design process off on the right foot, the design team focused on what kinds of storage do different people need. "We started by speaking to a lot different people in the team and around IKEA", Betina explains. "To try and determine different personalities and different needs. And what we ending up with was this big inventory of preferences and types of things that needed to be stored". By designing around personalities, the team started to develop types of storage that would fit collectors and families just as easily as minimalists and people with very little space. "The whole idea that defined the project became, don't change your personality, change your wardrobe instead", Betina says.

Fitting in function

Bringing this research together, the result is a series of interior organisers that can be adapted for particular uses, from multipurpose drawers and hangers, to specific features for everything from shoes, to trousers, to jewellery. The idea is that each organiser can be mixed or repeated as you choose, so if you want to store your whole sneaker collection inside, or have everything hanging, you can. "I really like to use space in a good way", Betina says. "With this system you can tailor your one wardrobe frame into hundreds of combinations." So whether you're a 'super organiser' or a 'piler' type of clothes person we hope you'll be able to match your storage to suit your style.

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.

Function solution

Customise it to your style and build it to your space.

With the PAX wardrobe system you can build a storage solution that suits you, your clothes and your room. Combine interiors with frames in different heights, widths and finishes - and choose hinged doors or sliding doors in a style you like.
