Poor built qualityAnonymous reviewerThese are very delicate and breaks or damages during installation.1
One was damagedAnonymous reviewerAfter putting it together I noticed one side was all bumpy and waved like the product was damaged1
Great wardrobe!Anonymous reviewerGood quality. Easy and quick to assemble.5
Pax 100cmAnonymous reviewerThe hardest part was carrying this upstairs. I had the old pax units prob had 15/ 20 years. These new ones are a doddle defo recommend 5
Not stable Anonymous reviewerVery flimsy and not secure would not but again. Waste of £80.00 . Now have to think about getting a different sturdy one.😔1
Great customisable wardrobeAnonymous reviewerI love how you can build your pax to suit your needs. It's easy to put together and a solid piece of furniture of good quality.5
Redesigned product.Anonymous reviewerThis is the third pax system I've built. Really like the new fold out design as it is far easier/quicker to build. Only time will tell if it lasts as well as the old design.5
WardrobesAnonymous reviewerThe wardrobes are very good, easy to put together, they are beautiful. The delivery men were great. Thank you ikea5
Poor quality Anonymous reviewerPurchased 1 x 100cm and 2 x 50cm wardrobes to go in my office. The frames are made from poor quality materials and because of this dent very easily which is a shame as the pax is great otherwise. Wouldn't puchase these again2
Brilliant New Assembly DesignAnonymous reviewerWhile assembling yet another PAX wardrobe about 6 weeks ago I said, why cant someone design a new back panel that does not require to hammer those 50+ nails in..... WELL OMG THEY HAVE..... it is so simple to assemble now.. a concertina of the sides and folded back panel all joined, which simply unfolds. The sides have been pre engineered slots, which accommodate the new slide in and lock plastic fittings and cross members. The slot in top and bottom shelf along with further push in fasteners and the unit is built..... A generous 3 minutes and it is assembled.... The design team deserve an award for this.... Simply Brilliant... Although one word of warning... ensure the front black feet blocks are fully pushed in, probably tapped in with a light hammer, to ensure pushing the front plinth does not catch on the block and damage the top corner of it.5
Love the new design!Anonymous reviewerHaving bought what feels like several hundred of these wardrobes over the last 20 years, the new design is absolutely brilliant. Screwless, no legs snapping off when you try to move them, no risk of a wayward nail busting through, and none of the peril that came with the previous ones when they decided to go off to one side until the back was in place - can literally build within 10 minutes and with one person if necessary. Great update IKEA! 5
Not as good as they wereAnonymous reviewerSuch a shame that IKEA are cutting costs and corners, what was once a sturdy piece of furniture is now flimsy, badly designed, falls apart when moved, plastic fittings are not fit for purpose. We have bought this range for years and now will never buy Pax again, not sure what is happening with the Ikea design team but it has really gone down hill.1
Inspirational PleaseAnonymous reviewerI plan to purchase these wardrobes shortly, however it was the beautiful inspirational photos on the website that made me want to them to create a similar look. Now they look basic and boring.5
Not as good as it used to be.Anonymous reviewerLike other reviewers, I have bought Pax wardrobes in the past and been very pleased. The new design with all-plastic hardware is nowhere near as good quality and seems much less rigid. Such a shame that a quality product is no longer what it was. When you see this, and other things like one of the most popular product ranges (Malm) being withdrawn, it makes you wonder whether Ikea are losing their way.1
Pax wardrobe Anonymous reviewerLove the new design so easy to put together 5
Very easy to build and very sturdyAnonymous reviewerHaving read some of the reviews I wondered if I'd made the right decision in buying these in dark grey. I found these wardrobes very easy to assemble, each one took no more than 10 minutes and they are very rigid once built.5
ColourAnonymous reviewerMore green than grey-beige1
Amazing !!!Anonymous reviewerCouldn't be any easier!! Seriously, built two by myself in no time at all, built 236cm high with 1.5cm clearance, such an ingenious design they are built upright, just amazing.5
Terrible qualityAnonymous reviewerUse to love the pax wardrobe system but the new screw less system is terrible. Just hope you don’t have to move the wardrobe because it doesn’t stay together very well and the laminate and chip board split easily. The old system of attaching the back board last was much better because the frame was locked together. This all joined system only takes a slight knock and the back board breaks away. Disappointed. 1
Just what I neededAnonymous reviewerEasy to assemble. Clear instructions.5

Unfold your PAX wardrobe

Sometimes it can actually be OK to eavesdrop. One of our most experienced innovators overheard some colleagues talking about how tricky it can be to assemble a PAX wardrobe. It immediately triggered his creativity. How do you make it easier and faster to assemble?

“It was above all one problem with our earlier version of the PAX frame,” says Benny Andersson, a long-time technician at IKEA. “Assembling it upright was way too complicated. But assembling it and then placing it upright demanded a ceiling height higher than the wardrobe, which not everyone has.”

Open it like a book

Benny began brainstorming solutions with his colleagues: what if the sides already were attached to the back when the wardrobe is delivered – so it can be mounted upright and in the right place from the beginning. The team’s solution was an innovative hinge which makes it possible to put the pieces together in the production. “Once home, you open your wardrobe like a book and click everything in place. The beauty is that you just as easily can click the frame apart if you have to move the wardrobe.”

Quick assembly with the right instructions

With the new construction, Benny and the team managed to halve the assembly time for one PAX frame. But they were still not satisfied. “We are specialists within our field, and it was valuable to bring in colleagues with different backgrounds to help out with the assembly tests. It made it possible to improve the assembly instructions further and reduce the time even more.” So, what started with an eavesdropping Benny ended with a PAX frame that can be assembled both faster and simpler. “To succeed with a project like this, all team members have to challenge and motivate each other. Our mission is to work in headwinds, and just like on a football pitch, everyone contributes to the end result.”

Function solution

The difficult art of simplifying

We like it simple but are happy to take on difficult tasks. That’s how we made it easier to assemble PAX wardrobe. The foldable construction allows you to mount the frame directly where you want it to avoid having to move the assembled furniture – and you add the sliding doors step by step, without heavy lifting and without problems. The storage solution is also easy to disassemble and reassemble, so you can bring it when moving and benefit from your PAX even longer.
